Heliogen, “a company trying to replace fossil fuels and reduce the emission of CO2″ claimed it has achieved a breakthrough in concentrated solar energy.
Heliogen’s solar technology can now exceed temperatures greater than 1,000 degrees Celsius by array of mirrors that directs light toward a single point on a tower.
This achievement could replace the fossil fuels used in heavy-emissions processes such as making cement, steel, glass and petrochemicals.
The current world’s richest person, Bill Gates is counted as one of its initial investors in this breakthrough technology.
This company is pioneer in creating such a high temperatures using concentrated solar power – others have tried but achieved temperatures of only up to 565 degrees Celsius, Heliogen said.
