Ashley Roxanne Peterson has become the first ever Black person in all of history to become an osteopathic doctor at 24 years old.

Who are Osteopathic doctors?

Osteopathic medicine is a branch of the medical profession in the United States. Osteopathic physicians (DOs) are licensed to practice medicine and surgery in all 50 states and are recognized to varying degrees in 65 other countries.
Osteopathic medicine provides all of the benefits of modern medicine including prescription drugs, surgery, and the use of technology to diagnose disease and evaluate injury. It also offers the added benefit of hands-on diagnosis and treatment through a system of treatment known as osteopathic manipulative medicine. Osteopathic medicine emphasizes helping each person achieve a high level of wellness by focusing on health promotion and disease prevention.

Ok back to the News, Ashley Roxanne Peterson has always been the youngest in the classes she enrolled in, Her journey to becoming a doctor started at her young age when she caught the character of serving others from her parents.

She graduated from high school when she was only 15 and was able to enrol in university before turning 16.

She was enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. When Ashley turned 19, she was able to start medical school and successfully graduate from the Philadelphia College of osteopathic medicine.
