10 Transparent Animals You Never Knew Existed

1. The Glasswinged butterfly

Greta oto (glasswinged butterfly) is a brush-footed butterfly.

The transparency of its wings results from the combination of three properties: first, from the low absorption of the visible light by the material constituting its wings, second, from the low scattering of the light passing through the wings and finally, from the low reflection of the light impinging on the wings surface.

2. Juvenile Sharpear Enope squid

This is a juvenile sharpear enope squid (Ancistrocheirus lesueurii). Its transparent body is covered with polka dots of pigment-filled cells, and below its eyes are bioluminescent organs. They may be found throughout the tropical and subtropical oceans, often at depths of between 200-1000 metres.

3. Transparent juvenile surgeonfish

This transparent fish is a juvenile Surgeonfish. They’re found in a wide range of waters including those around New Zealand. Believe it or not, it’s the same species of fish as Dory from Finding Nemo/Dory! They can grow up to 30cm (12 inches) long and are popular aquarium fish.

4. Macropinna Microstoma

Macropinna microstoma is the only species of fish in the genus Macropinna, belonging to the Opisthoproctidae, the barreleye family. It is recognized for a highly unusual transparent, fluid-filled dome on its head, through which the lenses of its eyes can be seen. M. microstoma has been known to science since 1939, but is not known to have been photographed alive until 2004.

5. Tortoise shell beetle

The tortoise shell beetle is not completely transparent, but it does have a carapace that is nearly invisible. The purpose of the transparent outer shell is to fool potential predators, as it reveals markings on its back that act as a warning. Tortoise beetles come in many different varieties, and the design under their clear shells can be distinct and beautiful.

7 Popular Logos You Never Knew Were Satanic (No 2 And 4 Will Surprise You)

1. Vodafone

Vodafone is the second largest Telecommunications Company worldwide; raking in a whopping 435 Million Subscribers according to GSMA Intelligence.

Advertisements

[1]. They call their current logo which was implemented in 1997 as the “Speech Bubble” which allegedly is representative of opening and closing cellular communication

[2]. If you look closely though, you can make out the crafty placement of the numbers 666 which is scripturally evocative to the number of the beast (Revelations 13:18).

[3]. Numerous conspiracy watchdogs also attribute Vodafone’s logo to the symbol of the Klu Klux Klan.

2. Google Chrome

Google Chrome is a freeware web browser developed by Google. It was estimated by StatCounter in December 2015 that Google Chrome has a worldwide usage of 58% of Desktops and is the most popular browser for smartphones at an estimated usage of 45% of all consumers favouring the simple interface.

Advertisements

Chromes internationally recognised emblem is a colour wheel of red, green and yellow. The devious placement though of the number six inside the wheel at three points again parades 666 – Coincidence? Surely not, for even Satan was called the slyest of all that were created (Genesis 3:1).

3. Adobe

Adobe Systems Incorporated, which it is formally known by is a transnational computer software company.

Advertisements

At some point along the way you would have come across any of the company’s products; from converting files to PDF format, editing photos with Photoshop or tapping into the Adobe Creative Cloud.

Following on from the illusory logo of Google Chrome, it’s almost impossible to pick the use of 666 in Adobe’s signature logo.

4. Monster Energy

It’s been 13 years since Monster hit shelves worldwide as a favourite beverage amongst teens and young adults. Targeting extreme sport enthusiasts, the company has caused much controversy about their brand, attempting to sue other companies if they use the word Monster or the letter M in their logo; Monster would later drop lawsuits to avoid negative publicity.

Another dispute that is surprisingly stated on their Wikipedia article is the observed use of the letter vav which is 6 in Hebrew. Meaning their logo as an “M” is really three vav’s to represent 666. Mclean Designs, a “strategic branding firm” who created the logo states the “M” represents claw marks that would be left after a “Monster” attacks the can.

This would be somewhat accurate if it wasn’t for the company’s diabolical slogan “Unleash the Beast”.

5. Versace

Versace is an Italian Consumer Label that was instituted in 1978 by Gianni Versace

[1]Having been flaunted on several TV and on-screen films, the company has been sourced internationally for almost three decades. It’s no surprise that a syndicate of such integrity would not fail to dress the rich and famous such as Jennifer Lopez at the Grammy Awards in 2000.

From dresses to fragrances to handbags to purses; Versace prides itself in quality products over quantity – stocking only a limited selection of an item at a time in its stores around the world to pervade opulence.

Advertisements

The logo of Versace would be familiar to those from the 2nd century where Greek Mythologists illustrated a monster called Medusa
[2]. With such a hideous face, sources say that if anyone were to look at her they would turn to stone.
Obviously demonic, the logo is depicting a forbidding and unsightly character that is closer related to a demon than it is a women.

My personal experience with Versace confirms the power of its logo. After suffering nightly attacks for many years I thought it necessary to seek the Lord. Immediately the word of the Lord came to me to remove Versace fragrances from my room; after much deliberation (they don’t come cheap) I threw it out and low and behold my nightly attacks left and to this day are still absent.

6. StarBucks

An international symbol for “hipster”, Starbucks is a household name when it comes to coffeehouse chains.

Advertisements

Founded in America in 1971, the trademark has acquired over $16.4 billion US in revenue over the last four and a half decades which might explain it’s ranking as number one in its industry and sits 5th place on the “Top 10 Worlds Most Admired Companies.

7. Walt Disney

Walt Disney was an entrepreneur and still is an entertainment icon globally. He was known largely as a famous cartoonist, animator, film director and voice actor. There has been much speculation to where Disney stood concerning Satanism and Occultism but a brief look into the past can lay hold to many clues. Firstly, Disney had a longstanding relationship with author of the Satanic Bible and head of the Church of Satan, Anton LaVey. Likewise, LaVey considered him highly, to such an extent that he would openly state that the followers of Satan should consider Walt Disney as one of their “guides”

60 Surprising Facts about the Flu and Pandemics

During the coronavirus pandemic, PornHub offered Italians who were lockdown free access to premium content to encourage Italians to stay home.

The name “coronavirus” is derived from the Latin word “corona,” meaning “crown” or “halo.” This refers to the appearance of a crown or a solar corona around the virus particles.

Scientists believe the ancestor of all coronaviruses existed as recently as 8,000 BC, although some place MRCA back to 55 million years ago and place it on the same coevolution trajectory as bats.

Human coronaviruses were first discovered in the late 1960s. In the past, there has been human coronavirus 229E and human coronavirus OC43. Other member of the coronavirus family include SARS and MERSpCoV.

In humans, several coronaviruses are known to cause respiratory infections, ranging from the common cold to severe diseases, such as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) and East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS). The more recently discovered coronavirus is COVID-19.

The English adopted the word “influenza” in the mid-eighteenth century, while the French called it la grippe from gripper, meaning “to grasp or hook.” There is also a similar-sounding phrase in Arabic, anf-al-anza, which means “nose of the goat,” used because goats were thought to be carriers of the disease.

The word “influenza” comes from the Italian influentia because people used to believe that the influence of the planets, stars, and moon caused the flu—for only such universal influence could explain such sudden and widespread sickness.

Annual flu viruses (not including flu pandemics) infect up to 20% of Americans, put 200,000 in the hospital with flu-related complications, and kill about 36,000 people.

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that between three and five million people worldwide get a serious case of the regular flu each year; tens of millions get milder cases. Between 250,000 and 500,000 people globally die of the flu every year.

There have been four major global flu pandemics since 1900. The most recent pandemic is the current swine flu (officially named “Novel H1N1 Influenza A”). The last global pandemic was the Hong Kong flu (1968-1969) which killed approximately one million people. The Asian flu pandemic (1957-1958) originated in China and is estimated to have killed between one and four million people. The Spanish flu pandemic (1918-1919) killed between 50-100 million people worldwide.[17]
Flu viruses can live up to 48 hours on hard, nonporous surfaces such as stainless steel and up to 12 hours on cloth and tissues. They can remain infectious for about one week at human body temperature, over 30 days at freezing temperatures, and indefinitely at temperatures below freezing.
Flu viruses mutate each year
Scientists believe that flu pandemics occur two or three times each century.
The single deadliest flu pandemic in history was the Spanish flu pandemic during 1918-1919. Occurring in the three waves of increasing lethality, the Spanish flu killed more people in 24 weeks than AIDS did in 24 years. It also killed more people in one year than smallpox or the Black Plague did in 50 years.
At the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, any student caught without a mask during the Spanish flu was automatically suspended, and a town in Arizona passed a law forbidding people to shake hands.

The Spanish flu was sometimes called “the purple death” because the worst symptom, signally certain death, was known as “heliotrope cyanosis,” when the lungs were starved of oxygen and the patient would turn purple, black, or blue.
Native Americans died at a rate four times the national average from the Spanish flu.

The United States government suggests citizens should have a two-week supply of water and food, a supply of necessary prescription drugs, and a supply of nonprescription drugs in case of flu quarantines or other emergencies.

The best thing about getting a flu shot is that you never again need to wash your hands. That’s how I see it.- Chuck Palahniuk
Novel Influenza A H1N1 (swine flu) first caused widespread illness in Mexico and the United States in March and April 2009, though Mexico may have been in the midst of the epidemic some months before. The first case in the United States was confirmed by the CDC on April 15, 2009.

“Cures” for the Spanish flu included drinking whiskey, smoking cigars, eating milk toast, gargling with salt water, getting fresh air, and partaking of interesting concoctions like “Grippura.” Some doctors doused their patients with icy water while others “bled” their patients. Yet other doctors tried surgery by slicing open a patient’s chest, spreading his ribs, and extracting pus and blood from the pleural cavity (the cavity surrounding the lungs), which was almost always fatal in flu victims.[9]
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) began referring to the swine flu as the “Novel Influenza A (H1N1)” in an effort to protect the pork industry.[11]
The 2009 H1N1 virus contained genetic elements from North American swine flu, North American avian flu (bird flu), and human and swine flus typically found in Asia and Europe. The CDC says it is “an unusually mongrelized mix of genetic sequences.”

There is some immunity to Novel H1N1 (swine flu) in people born before 1957. Their immunity may be a result of a previous exposure to a related virus or to a seasonal flu vaccine.[10]
The Spanish flu killed more Americans in one year than the combined total who died in battle during WWI, WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.[9]
The Spanish flu was the single deadliest plaque of the twentieth century
Like the Spanish flu pandemics of 1918-1919, the 2009 Novel H1N1 flu appeared to be more serious in younger, healthy people, perhaps due to what scientists call a “cytokine storm,” or when the immune system overreacts and damages the body.

In contrast to respirators, face masks (surgical, dental, isolation, or laser masks) do not form a tight seal around the face and block only large droplets, not small viruses, from coming into contact with the wearer’s mouth and nose.

In 1976, an Army recruit at Fort Dix, New Jersey, died of a variant of the swine flu, known as A/New Jersey/1976 (H1N1). When another strain began circulating in the U.S. (A/Victoria/75 H3N2) simultaneously, public health officials persuaded President Gerald Ford to vaccinate 40 million Americans. The vaccinations were called off when people became concerned the vaccine was worse than the virus, especially when over 500 Americans contracted Guillain-Barre syndrome. Intensive litigation followed.

The H1N1 form of swine flu is one of the descendants of the complex strain that caused the 1918 flu pandemic. It is called the “swine flu” because the overall structure of the virus is of the type that affects pigs, though other components besides swine are in the virus structure. The “H” and “N” in H1N1 stand for Hemagglutinin and Neuraminidase, which are key molecular components of the virus.

Pigs are unusual because they can become infected with influenza strains that can infect three different species: pigs, birds, and humans. This makes pigs a perfect breeding ground for new and dangerous strains of influenza.

When viruses that normally circulate in pigs infect humans, they are termed “variant” viruses
Viruses (from the Latin virus meaning “poison, slimy liquid”) are much simpler than bacteria. Viruses are just inert bundles of genetic material encased in a shell called a capsid or a fatty membrane called an envelope. The flu, for example, is caused by an RNA virus of the family Orthomyxoviridae (from the Greek orthos meaning “straight” and myxa meaning “mucous”).

Viruses mutate more in one day than humans did in several million years. They mutate so quickly due to their rapid rate of reproduction, their inability to fix their mutations, and their ability to exchange genes with one another.

Viruses are between 20 and 100 times smaller than bacteria and can be seen only through a microscope.

In 1988, a swine flu virus killed pregnant 32-year-old Barbara Ann Wieners after she visited a hog barn at a country fair in Wisconsin. Doctors were able to induce labor and deliver a healthy daughter before she died. Though those working with pigs and those she came into contact with tested positive for swine flu, there was no community outbreak.
Virologists are not certain about the origins of the viruses, though they have three theories:

(1) they started as living cells and devolved into simpler organisms,

(2) they originated as primitive particles capable of replicating themselves, and

(3) they were once parts of cells that broke away to evolve separately.

SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) killed 774 people out of 8,000 people who have been infected in 20 countries in Asia, Europe, and the Americas. The mortality rate of SARS was 9.6%.

Air travel has significantly increased the speed with which diseases can spread. Most of the world’s great cities are now within a few hours of each other. As SARS showed, a virus that is in Hong Kong one day can be carried to any point in Southeast Asia within three or four hours, to Europe in 12 hours, and to North America in 18 hours. Nearly 1.5 billion passengers travel by air every year.

Some historians blame President Woodrow Wilson’s (1856-1924) lingering case of the Spanish flu as the reason he unexpectedly caved into stringent French demands for the harsh peace terms that decimated Germany which, in turn, led to the rise of Adolf Hitler and WWII (1939-1945).

In 1933, British researchers Wilson Smith, Christopher Andrews, and Patrick P. Laidlaw were the first to identify the human flu virus by experimenting with ferrets.

The cost of treating annual flu epidemics, including lost wages and productivity of workers, is billions of dollars each year in just the United States alone.

In the United States of America, influenza epidemics cost US$ 71-167 billion per year.
Even with today’s powerful antibiotics, bacterial pneumonia is the most common complication of the flu, and most flu-related deaths are due to it.

Today’s medical historians have traced the likely beginning of the Spanish flu not to Spain, but to Haskell County, Kansas, where people lived close to their pigs and poultry. When three Haskell County boys were shipped off to Fort Riley, Kansas in late 1917, they carried the virus with them, which spread from U.S. military bases to cities across the country. The virus then spread throughout Europe, brought over with the U.S. troops of WWI, and it returned to the United States in a much deadlier form. Astonished at the rapid and high mortality rate, Americans feared the Germans had put “flu bacteria” in Bayer aspirin or had sneaked the flu through Boston harbor.

Thomas Francis and Jonas Salk (who later developed the polio vaccine) developed the first flu vaccine in 1944. These early vaccines often contained impurities that produced fever, headaches, and other side effects. The flu vaccine in its various forms has been used for over 60 years and over 90 million Americans get a flu shot each year.

The source of flu vaccines are chickens and, consequently, vaccines can be dangerous to people who are allergic to eggs. Those people should never receive the injectable or nasal spray vaccine without doctor’s approval.

Reyes syndrome is a rare and potentially fatal disorder linked to taking aspirin during viral illnesses such as the flu. Symptoms include persistent vomiting, fever, and confusion. Liver and brain damage occur within a few days. Many doctors advise against giving aspirin to children and young people for treating the symptoms of influenza-like symptoms. Dozens of cold and flu remedies contain aspirin.

Some historians believe that the Native Americans on the island of Hispaniola were hit by a swine flu epidemic in 1493 carried by pigs aboard Columbus’ ships.

In 1878, a “fowl pest” disease causing high mortality rates in poultry was first identified in Italy.
In contrast to the swine flu (H1N1) which reached a Phase 6 alert on June 11, 2009, the avian or bird flu (H5N1) remained at a Phase 3 alert.

The avian flu can survive for three months in bird droppings; the virus can also survive in water for up to four days.
The first well documented human pandemic occurred in 1889-90 and was called the Russian flu (H2N2) and killed approximately one million people.

In the mid 1930s, scientists developed a new electron microscope that enabled them to see and photograph influenza virus (the flu was once thought to be caused by bacteria). In the following years, influenza types A, B, and C were isolated and identified. Type A influenza causes most human sickness and the major pandemics. Exposure to one strain appears to provide no protection or immunity to another.

For reasons that are still puzzling, there was far less panic during many other great plagues of the past than there is about today’s flus, even though they killed so many. Scholars speculate that the Spanish flu may have been overshadowed by WWI.

During the coronavirus pandemic, German sex toy brand Womanizer is reporting that its sales have significantly increased.

Coronaviruses are a group of related viruses that cause disease in bird and mammals.

The word “pandemic” is from the Greek word “all” and “demos,” meaning people.

Pandemics have devastated human populations throughout history with diseases such as smallpox and tuberculosis.

One of the most destructive pandemics in history was the Black Death, which killed about 75-200 million people in the 14th century.

Pandemics can decimate not only humans, but plants, livestock, fish, and tree species.

A disease is not a pandemic merely because it is international or widespread; the disease must also be infectious. For example, even though cancer is widespread, it is not a pandemic because it is not infectious.

Over 300 people died and 1,000 injured as they drank industrial methanol. They believed drinking the substance would protect them from the coronavirus.

Walmart is reporting an increase in sales for tops, but not for bottoms during the Coronavirus. The reason is because more people are teleworking from home and are wearing business attire on top and casual clothing from the waist down.

During the coronavirus, entertainment items such as DVDs and popsicle sticks (most likely for crafting) have also increased in sales.

The United State keeps millions of chickens in secret farms to make flu vaccines. However, due to different receptors and other characteristics, the eggs won’t work for the coronavirus vaccine.[

USA now the country with the highest case of Covid – 19 with over 115,000 cases

The US has registered about 1,300 deaths, almost a quarter of them in New York City, where hospitals are overwhelmed.

In China, where the virus was believed to have been transferred from wild animals to humans, the National Health Commission on Friday reported 55 new cases, including 54 it said were imported infections in recent arrivals from overseas.

There were no new cases reported in Wuhan, the provincial capital where the coronavirus is reported to have emerged from late last year.

US coronavirus: New Orleans to be next epicentre, say officials (01:38)
US President Donald Trump, who had until recently insisted on calling the new coronavirus the “Chinese virus”, tweeted on Friday that he and China’s President Xi Jinping had “a very good conversation” and discussed “in great detail the CoronaVirus that is ravaging large parts of our Planet.”

Economy

The economic damage from the pandemic was growing as a record-shattering 3.3 million US citizens applied for unemployment benefits in a single week – nearly five times the old record, set in 1982.

Job losses have swept across sectors from food services to retail to transportation, as nearly half of the country has closed to non-essential businesses.

“It is staggering. We are only seeing the initial numbers. They will get worse, unfortunately,” New York Mayor Bill de Blasio told reporters, estimating that half a million people in the city would lose work.

But stock markets continued to climb on Friday, with Asian bourses in the green after a third straight day of rises on Wall Street.

Traders have taken heart from the passage through the Senate of a $2 trillion stimulus bill – the largest in US history, which will support the country’s businesses and provide cash payouts to people.

The rescue plan, which is expected to be voted on in the House of Representatives on Friday, would initially dispense cheques of $1,200 per adult and $500 per child.

Do All Snakes Lay Eggs?

If you want the short answer, then it’s no, not all snakes lay eggs and some types of snakes give birth to live young.

But most snakes do lay eggs while others will give birth to live young. Even more amazing is the facts that some types of snakes develop the eggs inside of the female body, but in the end, they give birth to live young.

Most snake species, around 70% of them reproduce by laying eggs, and 30% give birth to live young, like rattlesnakes, vipers, boas and most of the sea snake species. Read on to find out more amazing facts about snake reproduction.

So which snakes Lay Eggs?

The majority of the world’s snake species lay eggs, and includes members of the large Colubridae family that accounts for 2/3 of all snake species and members of the Elapidae family like cobras, adders, mambas, taipans, etc.

Most sea snakes give birth to live young, however one genus, Laticauda, which is oviparous, lay eggs on land, as opposed to giving live birth like the other sea snakes.

In most cases female snakes abandon the eggs shortly after laying them. But there are a few species that will actually coil around the eggs to incubate them, helping keep them warm until they are ready to hatch. The female of the highly venomous king cobra (Ophiophagus hannah) builds a nest for the eggs, and even stays with their offspring for a while after the eggs have hatched.

And which Snakes Give Birth to Live Young?

There are 2 ways snakes give birth to live young viviparous (no eggs) and ovoviviparous (egg retained inside the female’s body) and both produce live and fully functional baby snakes. Most viper species, all of the rattlesnakes, members of the Boidae family like boa constrictors and anacondas like the green anaconda, give birth to live young.

The sea snakes are members of Hydrophiinae, a subfamily of the Elapidae family that also includes the venomous cobras, adders and mambas. With the exception of the genus Laticauda (as seen above) most sea snake species give birth to live young, this means the babies are born live in the water.

There is no parental protection when it comes to snakes, so when the baby snakes are born live, they are completely on their own. The hatchlings start their lives on their own shortly after birth, and must fend for themselves from day one. That’s why babies from venomous snakes like rattlesnakes are born “fully loaded” with fangs and venom, and capable of inflicting a deadly bite.

So how do snakes reproduce?

Well like other things it depends on the snake species, as we’ve seen most snakes lay eggs while others give birth to live young. It seems there’s only 2 ways snakes give birth, but in fact, snakes have 3 different methods for reproduction, read on to find out more.

Oviparous: Most snake species, around 70% are considered oviparous, which means they lay eggs. The eggs like those of birds must then be incubated, or at least kept warm, until the hatchlings are fully developed and ready to emerge from the shell.

From the Colubridae family almost all of its members lay eggs, including rat snakes, king snakes grass snakes and other species. The mambas, cobras, adders, and many other members of the Elapidae family are also oviparous.

Viviparous: In this reproductive method there’s no egg present at all, it’s the most similar to that of mammals, humans included. Snake species that are considered viviparous nourish their developing young through the placenta and a yolk sac.

This is something that is very unusual among reptiles. Boa constrictors and green anacondas are 2 examples of viviparous snakes, meaning they give birth to live offspring, and no eggs are involved at any stage of development.

Ovoviviparous: We can think of the ovoviviparous method as a “mix” between an egg layer snake species and one that gives birth to live young. In snake species that are ovoviviparous females develop the eggs inside their body. When the babies are born, the female is still retaining the eggs inside of her body.

Basically the eggs will hatch inside of the female and the baby snakes eventually emerge fully formed and active with no shell at all. The hatchlings are born alive and outside of their eggs. The many rattlesnake species are ovoviviparous, meaning they give birth to live young after developing and retaining the eggs inside their bodies.

Legendary Boxer, Roger Mayweather dies aged 58

Roger Mayweather, former world boxing champion and uncle and trainer to Floyd, has died aged 58.

He was a two-weight world champion in stellar 72-fight career that spanned 17 years.

He then became the trainer to his nephew Floyd Mayweather who famously built himself into boxing’s top attraction and its pound-for-pound best fighter during the 2010s.

Floyd, in recent years, had addressed his uncle Roger’s poor health.

Roger’s passing comes a week after the death of Josie Harris, mother to three of Floyd Mayweather’s children.

Advertisements

Mayweather Jr released the following statement through Mayweather Promotions, saying:

My uncle was one of the most important people in my life inside and outside of the ring. Roger was a great champion and one of the best trainers in boxing. Unfortunately, his health was failing him for several years and now he can finally rest in peace.

“Roger meant the world to me, my father Floyd Sr., my uncle Jeff, our whole family, everyone in and around the Mayweather Boxing Gym and the entire boxing world. It is a terrible loss for all of us.”

“This is a sad day for the Mayweather Promotions family because that is truly what Roger was to us,” said Leonard Ellerbe, CEO of Mayweather Promotions who worked side-by-side with Roger for some of Floyd’s biggest fights.

Advertisements

“On top of being a phenomenal fighter in his own career, Roger was one of the most essential parts of guiding Floyd to the incredible career he had in becoming the best ever. We hope you keep Floyd and the entire Mayweather family in your thoughts and prayers during this time.”

“We are thankful for all the love and well-wishes we have already received as word travelled about Roger’s passing,” said Mayweather.

“It helps me to see that he was able to touch so many people through his life in boxing, because he gave so much to the sport which was his first and longtime love.”

6 Parts of Your Body You Should Never Touch With Your Hands

Touching our face is something we do unconsciously be it in expressions, picking spots and scars, scratching an itch, or simply idle fiddling. You are probably doing it right now. So what’s wrong with the common human habit of fiddling with body parts? Our fingers are in contact with keyboards, money, doorknobs, and handsets constantly, all of which are usually coated in bacteria.

Advertisements

By scratching or pricking, you could be spreading viruses and allergens around your skin. So never touch these body parts with your hands.

1. Your Butt

Yes wipe and wash your buttocks but never prick. Your anus contains bacteria that could potentially be harmful. Always make sure that you wash your hands thoroughly after you clean your butt.

2. The Skin under Your Nails

We do not need to tell you that lots of nasty bacteria thrive under your nails. So never try to prick the layer of dirt from under your nails. Keep your nails short to reduce the chances of bacterial carriage. Picking tends to create trauma in its own right and then any bacteria or yeast can cause further cause problems as severe as onycholysis, where the nail lifts off the nail bed.

3. Your Ear Canal

One place where you should never stick your fingers is your ears. A thin layer lines the ear canal that can tear with your fingers. If your ear feels itchy, it is best that you get in touch with an otolaryngologist rather than experimenting with DIY. Whether it be wax accumulation, eczema of the skin, or infection, an expert will be able to address the problem. A tailored programme of treatment, ear hygiene, and moisturising of the skin should be put into play. Doctors Removing an Ant From Vietnamese Man’s Ears Will Make Your Stomach Churn.

4. Your Eyes

Also, keep your hands off-limits from your eyes unless you are washing them or wearing your lenses. Remember that it is easy to introduce germs to your eyes. Conjunctivitis and other scary infections are all a result of touching your eyes with hands. Talk to your doctor if you are experiencing itchiness and dryness, instead of mishandling them with your hands.

5. Your Mouth

A study published Journal of Applied Microbiology concluded that people tend to put their hands in their mouth when they were bored at work. The germs in your hands transferred to your mouth can set you up for a number of infections. Maybe you should think about stealing your kid’s pacifier.

6. Your Face

Keep your paws off unless you are using them to apply your skincare formulas. Resting your hands on a germy surface and sticking them on your face like your forehead can make you breakout. Further, the oils from your fingers can plug your pores. How to Get Rid of Blemishes on Face? Try Tea Tree Beauty Regime.

If you’re a prolific fiddler try sitting on your hands, putting them in your pockets or wearing gloves when you’re not using them for something else. Also, keep hand sanitiser in your handbag and on your desk and use it before you feel the need to scratch and itch.

10 Things Every Lady Must Attain Before Age 30

The dream of every lady is to be an independent woman. By the time she is sixteen she starts to conjure up so many fantasies in her head. In the diary of a girl, life moves so fast she hardly realises she has reached the triple decade. However there are certain things every lady should achieve before marking her 30th birthday.

1. A Good education – Education here is not the formal University education; however by education, we refer to a trade, business or employment that she can rely on – The purpose is to ensure she doesn’t rely on a man for all her daily needs or petty cash. She should be able to take care of herself at least.

2. Full sexual education – By this age, every lady should have acquired every possible knowledge of sex, and sex education to a standard that she can teach her offspring, relatives, and community same.

3. Mastery in cooking – If by 30 a female cannot prepare a wonderful, tasty meal (even if it’s her local dishes) then something is wrong – she doesn’t have to be a professional cook, but she should be able to ‘wow’ her friends, relatives and lover (if any) once a while or every time.

4. A confidence outlook – At 30, every lady should be bold; she should be able to address anyone, walk into any space e.g. into a classroom where only boys are no matter their numbers, if the need arises.

5. A sense of discipline – Every lady at this age should have laid for herself solid principles, no late night, no sex on first date, no this or no that – this vary from one lady to the other, but be ready to live by your principle irrespective of peer or social pressure.

6. Menstrual Attainment – That’s funny right? – Well if you haven’t seen your period at 30, you’re in serious problem already.

7. A trusted adviser – Unlike guys who can just talk to anyone to get advice, every lady needs at least one person she can run to – we talked about using the social media for this purpose in No 6 above; but social media won’t solve all, there is going to be that once when she has to talk to someone; so get a trusted person NOW.

8. A home (away from parent’s home) – Preferably that place should be her husband’s house but in any situation where is has no plan to settle anytime soon; she should get a decent but not too expensive accommodation of her own.

9. Sound religious indoctrinatiom – Not everyone would agree to this, but its common saying to hear people talk about the power of the praying wife and the influence it has on her immediate family…. if the ladies don’t agree, every guy must agree; we all need one.

10. A fighting spirit: A woman’s journey in life is far and filled with stones. A woman must aquire a fighting spirit if she is to move ahead in life. By fighting spirit I do not mean being aggressive but having the calmness to wade through difficult challenge with poise.

How old are you? Do you see yourself as being a successful woman? Going through all these points which of them are you presently struggling with? It is important for a woman to always develop herself inwardly and outwardly.

How to get dark mode in WhatsApp for Android right now

How to get dark mode in WhatsApp for Android right now

One of the most requested features in WhatsApp over the last couple of years has been dark mode. It is finally available on Android — you can now manually set dark mode for WhatsApp, or have the app match the system theme automatically. Here’s how you can get started with dark mode on WhatsApp for Android.

As of March 3, 2020, dark mode is rolling out to all WhatsApp users around the globe. Even better, enabling it is very simple. Here’s what you need to do.

1. Open WhatsApp from the app drawer or home screen.

2. Tap the action overflow menu (three vertical dots in the top right corner).

3. Hit Settings.

4. Select Chats.

5. Choose Themes.
In the Choose Theme dialog box, select Dark.
You should see the interface switch to a dark theme.

That’s it! You should now have dark mode set up for the messaging service. Dark mode looks particularly good on WhatsApp because of the green accents that are present throughout the interface, and they bring a bit of visual flair to the app.

I’ve had dark mode enabled for over a week now, and it makes a huge difference in how you use the service. It’s easier on the eyes, and if you have an Android 10 phone and set dark mode system-wide, there’s better visual consistency.

11 Outrageous Things You’ll Only See In Dubai

Here are 11 Outrageous Things You’ll Only See In Dubai:

1. Interesting Passengers

It is pretty normal to see a person driving around with their dog riding shotgun in the United States. It is actually pretty cute. In Dubai, however, they do things much differently than they do in the United States. The people there allow their pets to jump in the car and ride shotgun just like they do in the US, but it isn’t dogs that they drive around with. It is not uncommon to pull up beside a car with a cheetah, a lion, or a tiger in the front seat.

Advertisements

If this happened in most other countries, people might be frightened. The reason that people drive around with exotic animals is that it is considered a status symbol. Driving around with these animals is the equivalent of an ordinary person riding around with a movie star or a supermodel, only more dangerous. For some strange reason, the residents of Dubai who drive around with their exotic animals aren’t usually afraid of being mauled and it doesn’t even happen. These animals must be very well trained.

2. Superstar Private Entertainment

From a private concert starring Prince, rest his soul, to a $5 million performance by Madonna for one anonymous fan, the super rich people of Dubai really know how to entertain. In 2011, Sheikh Mansour trumped every other parent in the world when he flew in JayZ and Kanye West to perform at his niece’s Sweet 16 party.

Advertisements

Most kids in the United States get a new dress, a party at a restaurant or a hall, and a DJ. Typical kids in Dubai get cars and boats for their Sweet 16. The Sheikh in question dropped $6 million to have Kanye and JayZ perform at the party which puts most other parties in the world to shame.

3. An Underwater Experience

Inside the Dubai Mall is an aquarium with a massive window that is over 75 feet long and over 26 feet tall. This gives all visitors a stunning view of marine life. If you visit the mall and you don’t want to spend your time shopping with your friends, you can get into the tank and you can actually swim with the sharks and the rays.

Advertisements

If you want to enjoy the views of an aquarium in a more private setting, you can stay in one of the underwater suites at the Hotel Atlantis. To stay in the room, you would need to pay $8,200 per night. It is costly, but the views are amazing. Each suite has a floor to ceiling view into a huge aquarium. What could be more peaceful than sleeping around those blue lights with all of the fish?

4. Gold ATM Machines

Have you ever gotten all dressed up for a night on the town only to find that you forgot to put on your gold jewelry? If you have, you would either have to go back home to get it or forget about wearing it for the night. If you live in Dubai, however, that wouldn’t be a problem. All you would need to do is stop by the “Gold To Go” ATM and buy yourself some new gold jewelry.

Advertisements

These crazy ATM dispense more than just jewelry. You can also get gold coins and gold bars. In Dubai, all of your gold needs are covered and you wouldn’t even need to go home. These machines are only found in Dubai now, however, there are plans to put them in all major cities. These machines are so popular that they need to be refilled twice a week. If you are looking for these to come to America, you could be waiting a long time.

5. A Supercar Paradise

In Dubai, you will see cars like you have never seen anywhere in the world, and they are everywhere. Many of the cars on the streets of Dubai have been heavily modified and many are even gold plated. If order food to be delivered in the United States, you will usually see a typical car pull up in your driveway. In some cases, the car is old and beat up as the delivery drivers use their own vehicles and they don’t really make much money.

Advertisements

If you order takeout in Dubai, there will be a fleet of Ferraris and Jaguars ready to deliver your food in 30 minutes or less. Even the police in Dubai drive around in style. They drive a variety of vehicles including Mustangs, Camaros, Lamborghinis, and Ferraris. If you plan to run from the police, you should think twice. There are certain officers who drive a 1,000 horsepower Bugatti Veyron which would catch you in seconds. If you are planning to walk down the streets of Dubai, it will look more like a car show than a typical city.

6. The Largest Man-made Islands In the World

If you are flying to Dubai, make sure that you have a window seat. If you do, you will be able to see some of the most interesting and amazing features in the water below. Just off the shore of Dubai are many small islands that are formed into different shapes. There are some islands that look like palm trees, some look like the Earth, and currently, there is an island formation being constructed to look like the Milky Way. In total, these islands add hundreds of miles of coastline and beachfront property to Dubai. These islands may be beautiful, however, there is one problem. Because these islands were built out of sand, there is always a treat that they will disappear due to erosion and storms. Regardless of the danger, people are still flocking to these islands to live in one of the 4,000 villas and the 5,000 shoreline homes on these islands.

7. Indoor Ski Resorts

If you live in most places around the world, you can visit a ski resort and you would ski outdoors. In Dubai, things are quite different. Since the Middle-East is so hot and dry, the ski resorts have to be built indoors. If you visit the Mall of Emirates in Dubai, you can go skiing. There might be indoor ski slopes in a few places around the world, but Dubai has a complete ski resort all located indoors.

Advertisements
In Dubai’s indoor resort, you will find several slopes, toboggan hills, ski lifts, ice caves, and climbing towers. There are even penguins walking around the resort to make the whole experience even more amazing. The resort is located in a 22,000 square-foot facility where they keep the temperature at -4 degrees. When you are skiing in the resort, it is easy to forget that you are in the middle of a giant desert.

8. High Rise Tennis Courts

If you are an avid tennis player and you want to get in a game or two while you visit Dubai, you can play at Dubai’s Burj Al Arab Hotel. If you are afraid of heights, however, you might want to skip tennis during your trip because the court is over 1,000 feet in the air.

Advertisements
The views are amazing, however, make sure that each serve is a good one. If your opponent misses, your ball will be lost forever. The tennis court even doubles as a helipad. If you are planning to move to Dubai, you can have a tennis court just like this, however, you better be ready to spend a lot of money. The price tag could be millions of dollars.

9. The Tallest Building in the World

The Burj Khalifa in Dubai is an amazing piece of architecture and it is currently the tallest building in the world, standing at 2,717 feet tall. It is over 600 feet taller than the next tallest structure in the world. The main purpose of this amazing building is to attract tourists and commercial interest from all around the world.

Advertisements
There are 163 floors in the building, complete with nightclubs, swimming pools, and it is also the location of the Armani Hotel. There are also corporate offices and private residences in the building. Of all the amazing things located in Dubai, this building is one that will certainly get your attention.

10. Temperature Controlled Indoor City

This is one of the most outrageous things you’ll only see in Dubai. This city is home to the tallest building in the world and manmade islands and now they are set to build the first temperature controlled indoor city in the world. The city’s official names is The Mall of the World and it is going to be the largest shopping and entertainment center on Earth. The structure will be 48 million square feet and it will include a covered amusement park, hotels, and apartment complexes, All of the buildings will be connected by air-conditioned walkways and close to 5 miles of covered temperature controlled streets. When the mall is completed, the mall will be large enough for millions of visitors. The best part is that you can enjoy Dubai without sweating in the city’s 100-degree heat.

11. Golden Toilets and Money Toilet Paper

Everything in Dubai shimmers in gold. This includes their toilets. It is not uncommon to walk into a home, a restaurant, or a nightclub in Dubai and see a gold plated toilet. These toilets are so amazing that Donald Trump would be jealous. What would a gold plated toilet be without toilet paper made out of $20 bills? The toilet paper isn’t actually made out of $20 bills, as the bills are fake. It is still impressive though.[1]

Top 10 Best Footballers Who Never Played In a World Cup

We are now presenting the top 10 best footballers who never played in a world cup.

10. Nicolas Anelka

His CV and his total transfer fees combined make it incredible that Anelka has yet to play at a World Cup. He made his debut prior to the 1998 World Cup but was not selected for the squad who went on to win the tournament. He fell out of favour with the French management between 2001 and 2007 therefore missing out on two more world cups. He signed for Arsenal (£500,000) in 1997 as a teenager and from there went on to play for Real Madrid (£22.3m), Paris St. Germain (£20m), Manchester City (£13m), Bolton Wanderers (£8m) and Chelsea (£15m), as well as a loan spell at Liverpool. His combined transfer fees make him one of the most expensive footballers of all time. However, he remains in contention to play at the 2010 World Cup should France qualify.

9. Matt Le Tissier

A combination of remaining loyal to his beloved Southampton and playing in a generation of great English strikers probably cost Le Tissier his chance to feature at a World Cup. England failed to qualify in 1994 but Le Tissier’s best chance was probably in 1998. His Southampton side were perennial strugglers in the Premier League, and the likes of Alan Shearer, Teddy Sheringham and Andrew Cole made sure Le Tissier was overlooked.

8. Johnny Giles

Giles played in the heart of midfield for a Leeds United side in the 1970’s, who were the Manchester United of their day. Despite playing 60 times for his country Giles failed to grace a World Cup as either a player or a manager.

7. Ian Rush

The second Welshman on the list, Rush made his name with Liverpool in the 80’s and 90’s but his quality alo saw him play abroad for the likes of Juventus. He had an impressive international record coring 28 goals in 73 games for Wales, and his proudest moment came when he scored the winner in a European Qualifier against Germany in 1991. Wales narrowly missed out on qualification for the 1992 European Championships, as they did for the 1982, 1986, 1990 and 1994 World Cups.

6. George Weah

Weah was voted African Player of the Year in 1989, 1994 and 1995 and European and World Footballer of the Year in 1995. Weah enjoed his best years in France with Monaco and Paris St. Germain, and in Italy with AC Milan between 1988 and 2000. Unfortunately, like Best and Giggs he came from Liberia, another footballing minnow who as yet have failed to make a World Cup.

5. Eric Cantona

Another Manchester United legend, Cantona made his France debut in 1987. However, he fell out with the French coach and failed to make the squad for the 1990 World Cup in Italy. In 1994 France sensationally failed to qualify and Cantona then retired in 1997, aged 31 to pursue a career as an actor. France won the World Cup in 1998 on home soil, but it is debateable as to whether or not Cantona would have featured.

4. Duncan Edwards

Duncan Edwards was considered one of the greatest of his generation. One of the Busby Babes Edwards was tragically killed in the Munich air disaster of 1958. He failed to play at a World Cup for England, but probably would have played for them in 1966, when they won the tournament for the one and only time in their history.

3. Ryan Giggs

Giggs makes no.3 on the list due to the length and consistency of his career. Giggs made his debut in 1991, and to this day remains with the same club Manchester United. During his time he has won 11 English Premierships and 2 European Cups. Giggs comes from Wales who have only ever qualified for 1 World Cup in 1958.

2. Alfredo Di Stefano

Alfredo-Di-Stefano 20180Di Stefano legend for Real Madrid at club level, Di Stefano mysteriously played for Argentina, Colombia and Spain at international level. Di Stefano was unfortunate to miss the World Cup with Argentina in 1950. In 1954 he was denied permission to play for Spain at the World Cup having represented both Argentina and Colombia. He was later granted permission to play for Spain but they missed the 1958 World Cup and in 1962 injury once again prevented him from playing on the worlds bigest stage. His failure to appear at a World Cup probably prevented him from being compared with Pele, Cruyff and Maradona as one of the greatest.

1 George Best

Best was not only the best player to never make a World Cup, but for many the greatest player of all time. Unfortunately for Best he was a native of Northern Ireland who are relative minnows of international football and haven’t qualified for a World Cup since 1986. Best enjoyed his best years at Manchester United, the highlight being a European Cup winners medal in 1968. However, Best was as well known for his scoring off the pitch as he was on it. After a series of personal problems he left Manchester United in 1974 for good, aged just 27. Despite playing for a number of other clubs Best never recaptured his finest form and failed to play for Northern Ireland at the 1982 or 1986 World Cup. Best died in 2005 following a long battle with alcoholism.

Here are the top ten richest drug Lord in history by money.inc

10. Al Capone: $1.3 Billion

This famous American crime boss often went by the name of “Scarface” but he was born Alphonse Gabriel Capone. He was the child of immigrants from Italy, and one of nine children born to Gabriele and Teresa Capone. The Capones had come from the town of Angri, lived for a time in Fiume, Austria-Hungary, and then sailed by ship to America to settle in Brooklyn, New York. Though Capone was a promising Catholic school student, he eventually was expelled because he hit one of the women teachers in the face. After that, he took on a variety of odd jobs in Brooklyn and mentored with Johnny Torrio, the gangster. Capone worked his way through small gangs to more powerful ones, and eventually followed Torrio to work as a brothel bouncer. His work came with the side benefit of syphilis, which contracted when he was about 20 years old. By the time he was 26, Capone took over control of the crime group Torrio headed. The organization had illegal breweries and liquor transportation in a crime network that extended into Canada. Topping it off was the protection given to the network from politicians and law enforcement. He became a celebrity, known for his jewelry, custom suits, expensive cigars, extravagant foods and drinks and plenty of women. He was imprisoned for violating the prohibition laws, and for tax evasion, even though his criminal activities often centered on presumptions of physical brutality and murder. Capone served time in Alcatraz and the Federal Correctional Institution at Terminal Island, CA, the Atlanta U.S. Penitentiary, and the Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia. She was a historic figure in drug trafficking from Colombia to the United States. Her drug network was violent, lawless and free-wheeling. Her corrupt business practices created revenues from drug distribution said to be more than $80.000.000 USD every month. Her competitors eventually made attempts to assassinate her, so she escaped to California. She was arrested and spend ten years in jail but ran her cocaine empire from prison. She was equally comfortable with guns, cocaine, and a bisexual lifestyle. Court proceedings revealed that she had killed random bystanders, her business competitors, strippers, a boy who was just four years old, and three of her former husbands. According to one of her sons, she eventually embraced a new life as a born-again Christian.

1. Cancer

Smartphones emit radio waves which can be absorbed by our tissues. These radio waves are a form of electromagnetic radiation which can increase a person’s risk to cancer. Researchers found out that exposure to radiation can enhance chemical carcinogens that develop into cancer. Top 10 Churches Where God Is Not Worshiped

Churches are synonymous with Christianity. We often think of churches as places of worship for Christians even though there are churches that are not targeted at that group. These non-Christian churches are dedicated to the worship of other gods or humans or might not even be involved in the worship of any god at all. Some even come with their own religious books, prophets, and commandments.

At Iglesia Maradoniana (“Church of Maradona”), Argentine football (soccer) star Diego Maradona is god. The church is based in Argentina but has over 500,000 members around the world. Everything done by the church is modeled after the Argentine football star.Their equivalent of Christmas and New Year’s Day is October 30, Maradona’s birthday. Their Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve fall on October 29, the day before his birthday. For their “calendar,” years are counted from the day of Maradona’s birth in 1960. So the date is always Maradona’s age with dD (despues de Diego) rather than anno Domini (AD). As of this writing, the current year for the Church Of Maradona is 57 dD.New members are expected to score a goal with their left fist, as Maradona did during the 1986 World Cup, before they can be baptized in the church. Followers of the church draw parallels between Maradona and Jesus. Maradona was crucified, sent away from the pitch, and had his leg broken. But like Jesus, he came back. Followers also have their version of the Lord’s Prayer, written in reverence for Maradona. It starts with the lines: Our Diego
Who art on Earth
Hallowed be thy left foot
Thy magic come
Thy goals be remembered.Similarly, the church has its own version of the 10 commandments. Among others, they include undying love for Maradona and football, spreading the news of Maradona’s exploits, and honoring his shirt. The commandments also require that members name their first son Diego and change their own middle names to Diego. One member took this further when he named his twin girls Mara and Dona.

9. Church Of The Latter-Day Dude

The Church of the Latter-Day Dude claims that it is an original religion modeled after the Chinese philosophy of Taoism. Its dogma is straightforward: Life is short, so take it easy. Followers are encouraged to live life one step at a time without bothers or unnecessary problems. Followers of the religion are called “dudes” regardless of gender. The religion itself is called “Dudeism.” Dudes do not necessarily believe in the existence of a god, although they do not focus on the nonexistence, either. Their church was created for people who fancied religion but are not satisfied with any of the available options. Dudeism prides itself on being an “open source religion” that allows worshipers to add or remove whatever they feel like from the religion. The Church of the Latter-Day Dude also maintains a list of the “Greatest Dudes in History,” which it claims are its prophets. The list includes Lao Tzu (the founder of Taoism), Heraclitus (the Greek philosopher who wrote that it was impossible to step in the same river twice), Mahatma Gandhi, The Buddha, and Jesus Christ (who is said to have converted to Dudeism after realizing that the Romans and Pharisees were fascists). On the fictional side, it has Snoopy, Charlie Brown’s pet dog from the Peanuts comic strip. Yes, Snoopy is a prophet.

8. The Church Of Wicca

Wicca is a controversial religion. This is no surprise because it is a mixture of witchcraft and magic. It is also a decentralized religion with members worshiping independently, although they can form a coven to worship together. These covens can commission a permanent place of worship that they call a church. Two examples are the Coven of the Gryphon Wiccan Church in Los Angeles and the Church and School of Wicca. The Church and School of Wicca was founded in 1968 even though Wicca officially became a religion in 1972. The church says that it sympathizes with those brutally killed in the medieval ages over their religious beliefs. Its mode of worship is based on the phases of the Moon. There are no commandments. Members are allowed to do anything they want on the condition that it harms no one.

6. Missionary Church Of Kopimism

The Missionary Church of Kopimism also proves that we have a lot of weird churches that are not dedicated to the worship of God. This religion is the creation of Swedish national Isaac Gerson who believes that file sharing is an act of appreciation toward the original owner. You know, our little way of telling the creator “thank you.”Gerson says people should be happy that someone even bothered to share their file instead of trying to get them arrested for infringing on a copyright. Followers of his church believe that copyright laws should not exist and everyone should be allowed to download, copy, and upload files without hindrance. They believe that information belongs to everyone and should not be hoarded by a few. The church draws a line, though, by saying that it is wrong to spy on other people’s conversations. 5. Church Of Cannabis

As you can already guess from the name, the activities of the Church of Cannabis revolve around cannabis. There are at least three unrelated Churches of Cannabis operating in the United States—one each in Colorado, Indiana, and Michigan.Members of the Colorado Church of Cannabis call themselves elevationists because they lift themselves to a better version/person by smoking cannabis. Members of other faiths are allowed to join their worship sessions without leaving their religions.Cannabis, not a god, binds them together. The church does not have its equivalent of clergymen or religious books. It only has one commandment: Treat others the way you want to be treated. The First Cannabis Church of Logic and Reason is in Lansing, Michigan. Like the International Church of Cannabis in Colorado, members congregate to smoke cannabis, which is classified as a “religious material” and distributed to members during worship sessions.[6]The church also accepts cannabis donations from members to share with other members. Although the religion does not claim the existence of a god, members are allowed to believe in any god they want to.

4. Church Of The Flying Spaghetti Monster

Unsurprisingly, members of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster worship the Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM). Their religious motto is: “Be touched by His Noodly Appendage!”The FSM is a fictional monster made of intertwined strands of spaghetti, two meatballs, and a pair of eyes. The followers, who call themselves Pastafarians, believe that the FSM created the world. He supposedly did this when he was drunk, which is why the world is imperfect.Pastafarians say that pirates were the first worshipers of the FSM. Apparently, these pirates were good guys who were only given a bad rap by the Christian church. Natural disasters are supposedly the consequences of the reduced number of pirates. The church does not have a strict dogma. It preaches that everyone should lead their lives peacefully without interrupting others’ peaceful lives.Pastafarians also believe that there is a beer volcano and a stripper factory in heaven. The church forbids abortion, although it has some weird definition of what constitutes abortion. Men who cause damage to their sperm, maybe from wearing tight pants or using hot water Jacuzzis, are said to be guilty of abortion. The church readily accepts members from other faiths.

3. First Church For Animal Rights

The First Church for Animal Rights was the creation of Diana Belais and Royal Dixon. They held the first meeting at Hotel Astor in New York on March 13, 1921. Over 300 people attended. The church promoted animal rights, stating that animals had the same right to life as humans and should not be killed. The church was supposed to meet at 3:00 PM every Sunday for what The New York Times referred to as “services.”During these meetings, members were taught how to care for and be considerate toward animals. The church recognized the Christian Bible as its religious book, except it only focused on chapters promoting animal rights. There is no record that the church held a second meeting. This was probably due to its unpopularity among Christians because of the inclusion of “Church” in its name. Its founders were also Jews, which made it more controversial.

2. Church Of Euthanasia

Although it no longer exists, the Church of Euthanasia believed that humanity needed to reduce its birth rate to save the world. This was very evident in its dogma: Save the planet—kill yourself. Followers of the church said that humans were responsible for every environmental problem, such as climate change and erosion. So we needed to depopulate ourselves to save the world. In its quest to keep the human population down, the church supported cannibalism, abortion, non-vaginal sex, and suicide. It once operated a pro-suicide hotline that people could call to receive suicide instructions if they were willing to kill themselves. The phone company hosting the line realized what was happening and refused to play the recorded message to callers. The church understood that wars and epidemics were already depopulating the Earth, but it said that was not enough to make a difference. Besides, unwilling people were often killed. The church preferred that willing volunteers die. This religion was founded by Reverend Chris Korda after she dreamed of meeting an alien that warned her about the slow destruction of the Earth.[9]Despite its radical beliefs, the Church of Euthanasia forbade the consumption of animals. It proposed that all humans become vegetarians. The church had only one commandment: “Thou shalt not procreate.” Ironically, some members flouted this single commandment and got pregnant or got someone else pregnant. They were quickly kicked out of the church.

There is no evidence that Beyonce acknowledges the religion, although the church plans to invite her to speak to the congregation someday. They hold services on Sundays when worshipers meet to sing Beyonce songs.Beyism and the National Church of Bey were founded by Pauline John Andrews. She created the church and religion after she and some friends met to sing and analyze Beyonce songs. They were drinking and smoking marijuana, which she calls Beyha, during the meeting when the thought of creating the church crossed her mind.

Top 10 Reasons Why China Won’t Be The World’s Superpower

Written NOVEMBER 2019

China is an amazing country. One of the oldest continuing civilizations on Earth, it has gone from a centuries-old, primarily agrarian society to an industrial economic powerhouse. In the span of 50 years, the reforms that China has put in place have made it the second-largest economy on Earth, and it is soon expected to eclipse the US as the largest. With their sheer numbers, strong economy,[1] and rapidly growing military, the Chinese have drawn the attention and, in some respects, concern of the world. Many people now believe it’s just a matter of time before the country takes over as the next major global superpower.

While that could be the case someday, there are many reasons to believe that it may not be, as there are several serious issues holding China back. Until (and if) these issues can be addressed, it is unlikely that the country will take over anytime soon as the most dominant power on Earth, either militarily or economically. Here are the top ten reasons why China will not take over the world.

10. Pollution

It’s no secret that China has a serious pollution problem. Since its rapid industrialization began in the 1950s, China has reached the point where health scientists estimate it claims 1.6 million lives per year (approximately 4,000 people per day).[2] As other nations had delays in starting production due to environmental restraints and regulations, China built factories without concern for the long-term environmental consequences. As foreign demand for cheaper products made in China soared, so did the creation of factories required to produce them.

In some of the most heavily polluted areas, simply breathing is equivalent to smoking 40 cigarettes per day. With almost half the entire population living within the major (and often most polluted) metropolitan regions, the dire consequences to public health and the need to reverse the damage presents a serious setback for the country.

9. Overpopulation

As of September 2017, the population of China stands at over 1.3 billion people.[3] Although the country is geographically the fourth largest in the world, approximately 20 percent of the entire global population lives inside its borders. This places an enormous strain on its natural resources, particularly when living standards rise, and thus, demand for resources increases.

Although certain measures have been put in place to help curtail the exploding population (such as the nearly 40-year-old one-child policy, which was officially lifted in 2016), it seems likely that China will become more dependent on foreign resources to meet its needs.

8. Demographics

China is facing a demographic nightmare. As fertility rates have decreased and after decades of the one-child policy, the country is getting very old very fast. After the one-child policy was officially lifted in 2016, many couples were now found to only want one child or didn’t plan to have any at all. According to the United Nations, China may have as much as 44 percent of its population retired by 2050.

Unless they can attract Chinese youth back to the country from afar (which, as you will soon see, is itself another major obstacle), a massive strain will be placed on the younger working population to sustain China’s social services, especially considering that the country is a socialist state.

7. Wealth Distribution

Although China has had very impressive continuous growth for many years now, a significant segment of the population still lives in poverty.[5] Since the early 1980s, millions have seen their standard of living dramatically increase, yet while the economy is growing, there are many millions without electricity or adequate drinking water. It will still require a significant amount of time and investment before China’s population as a whole will catch up and be wealthy by the standards of other developed nations.

6. Wage Increase

While the middle class has exploded in China, the expectations have increased, as more Chinese will expect better pay, which in turn will eventually make their products more expensive for consumers. While countries such as Japan and Korea have still exported an enormous amount of goods as their salaries have increased, the quality of these goods has been high, which, in turn, kept demand high. Although the “workshop of the world” exports many goods, they are largely inexpensive because of their poor quality.

Eventually, when the standard of living goes up, the population will expect higher wages, which will inevitably drive up the cost of production, making the products they export too expensive. This will likely result in companies eventually pulling out of the country in search of cheaper nations, such as Vietnam and Bangladesh, to produce their goods.

5. Regional Tensions

There are several regions (such as Tibet and Hong Kong) within China that are demanding more autonomy, which requires the country to devote a significant amount of resources to ensuring political stability within its borders.[7] Until they can attain a certain level of regional stability as well as control an increasing desire from the general population for more freedom, their foreign ambitions will be hampered.

,

Unlike twhe former Soviet Union, if you wish to emigrate from China, you are free to do so. The only issue appears to be related to Top 10 Reasons China Won’t Be The World’s Next Superpower. This poses a rather serious problem for China, as a recent report indicated that as many as 50 percent of the wealthiest Chinese citizens are considering moving out of the country to places such as the US, Australia, and Canada.

So even if China succeeds in raising its living standards, they face the challenge of then convincing a considerable number of their citizens to stay. Problems previously mentioned such as pollution, overcrowding, and restrictions to personal freedom make moving a tempting option to a very important segment of the population. When they leave, they take their wealth with them, leaving what is referred to a wealth drain, a loss in tax revenue and investment within their borders.

3. State-Owned Enterprises

Although private industry has grown considerably, a very sizeable portion of the Chinese economy is still owned by the state. Approximately 30 percent of their total assets (in both the industrial and service sectors) are state-controlled. This may lead to corruption and inefficiency, as subsidies can and are used to prop up businesses which may otherwise be unable to compete.

With competition comes innovation, which is essential to maintain relevance in an increasingly high-tech, knowledge-based economy. A whopping 50 percent of total industry in China is state-controlled.[9]

2. Reform

China currently finds itself in the rather awkward position of having a somewhat free-market economy while at the same time being a socialist state.[10] As a result, they have a very big domestic challenge ahead of them as they try to keep their economy free and competitive globally in order to generate revenue to improve the country overall and maintain a socialist state domestically.

This can result in a very confusing vision of the future for China’s citizens. As the middle class grows and their wealth increases, class structure should become more evident, which is what socialism is supposed to be against. A healthy free-market economy is widely believed to only be able to sustain itself in the long run if it is free of too much government intervention and capable of competing globally, which is a challenge for a one-party state.

1. Military Issues

Although China has invested heavily in its military, and it is growing, they are still behind the most powerful militaries in the world in terms of equipment and training. It takes a great deal of money to equip and train a military of China’s size. Widespread corruption coupled with a lack of competition, overruns in costs, delays, issues enforcing quality control, and monopolies in the defense industry place the country at a serious disadvantage when it comes to acquiring new technology. Its organizational structure is flawed as well, since the primary objective of the People’s Liberation Army is the protection and preservation of the more than 88 million members of the Communist Party rather than the general public itself.

Equally important is the lack of combat experience, as China hasn’t engaged in combat with a foreign enemy since Vietnamn 1979. The lack of experience in comparison to countries such as the US, UK, and Russia places China at a disadvantages.

Soon afterwards, Rihanna also told interview magazine that “of course” she was in love with Jameel — though she was less enthused about talking marriage.

Pope Francis Sets Special Day To Honor, Study and Share The Bible

Advertisements

The newly established “Sunday of the Word of God” is an invitation to Catholics across the world to deepen their appreciation, love and faithful witness to God and his word, Pope Francis said.

By papal decree, the third Sunday in Ordinary Time — Jan. 26 this year — is to be observed as a special day devoted to “the celebration, study and dissemination of the word of God.”

A day dedicated to the Bible will help the church “experience anew how the risen Lord opens up for us the treasury of his word and enables us to proclaim its unfathomable riches before the world,” the pope said in the document establishing the special Sunday observance.

Dioceses and parishes have been invited to respond with creative initiatives, helpful resources and renewed efforts for helping Catholics engage more deeply with the Bible at church and in their lives.

Archbishop Rino Fisichella, president of the Pontifical Council for Promoting New Evangelization, said added emphasis on the importance of the word of God is needed because “the overwhelming majority” of Catholics are not familiar with sacred Scripture. For many, the only time they hear the word of God is when they attend Mass, he told Vatican News Sept. 30, when the papal document, titled “Aperuit Illis,” was published.

“The Bible is the most widely distributed book, but it’s also perhaps the one most covered in dust because it is not held in our hands,” the archbishop said.

With this apostolic letter, the pope “invites us to hold the word of God in our hands every day as much as possible so that it becomes our prayer” and a greater part of one’s lived experience, he said.

In his letter, Pope Francis wrote, “A day devoted to the Bible should not be seen as a yearly event but rather a yearlong event, for we urgently need to grow in our knowledge and love of the Scriptures and of the risen Lord, who continues to speak his word and to break bread in the community of believers.”

“We need to develop a closer relationship with sacred Scripture; otherwise, our hearts will remain cold and our eyes shut, struck as we are by so many forms of blindness,” he wrote.

Sacred Scripture and the sacraments are inseparable, he wrote. Jesus speaks to everyone with his word in sacred Scripture, he said, and if people “hear his voice and open the doors of our minds and hearts, then he will enter our lives and remain ever with us.”

Pope Francis urged priests to be extra attentive to creating a homily each Sunday that “speaks from the heart” and really helps people understand Scripture “through simple and suitable” language.

The homily “is a pastoral opportunity that should not be wasted,” he wrote. “For many of our faithful, in fact, this is the only opportunity they have to grasp the beauty of God’s word and to see it applied to their daily lives.”

Pope Francis encouraged people to read the Second Vatican Council’s Dogmatic Constitution on Divine Revelation, “Dei Verbum,” and Pope Benedict XVI’s apostolic exhortation on the Bible, “Verbum Domini,” whose teaching remains “fundamental for our communities.”

The pope also suggested pastors provide parishioners with the Bible, a book of the Gospels or other catechetical resources, “enthrone” the Bible in order to emphasize the honor and sacred nature of the text, bless or commission lectors of the parish and encourage people to read and pay with Scripture every day, especially through “lectio divina.”

“The Bible cannot be just the heritage of some, much less a collection of books for the benefit of a privileged few. It belongs above all to those called to hear its message and to recognize themselves in its words,” the pope wrote.

Advertisements

“The Bible is the book of the Lord’s people, who, in listening to it, move from dispersion and division toward unity” as well as come to understand God’s love and become inspired to share it with others, he added.

The celebration of the Sunday of the Word of God also “has ecumenical value, since the Scriptures point out, for those who listen, the path to authentic and firm unity,” he wrote. The third Sunday in Ordinary Time falls during that part of the year when the church is encouraged to strengthen its bonds with the Jewish people and to pray for Christian unity.

The document was published on the feast of St. Jerome, patron saint of biblical scholars and doctor of the church, who said, “Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ.” The title, “Aperuit Illis,” is based on a verse from the Gospel of St. Luke, “Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.”

The pope said it is impossible to understand the Scriptures in depth without the Lord who opens people’s minds to his word, yet “without the Scriptures, the events of the mission of Jesus and of his church in this world would remain incomprehensible.”

Ukrainian Plane Crash Kills 176 people, as They Begin Mourning And Investigations

Advertisements

The crash of a Ukrainian jetliner that killed 176 people in Iran where many of the victims were from or were headed and raised a host of questions about what went wrong.

But U.S. intelligence officials said there was no immediate evidence it was shot down.
The jetliner, a Boeing 737 operated by Ukrainian International Airlines, went down on the outskirts of Tehran during takeoff just hours after Iran launched a barrage of missiles at U.S. forces. While the timing of the disaster led some aviation experts to wonder whether it was brought down by a missile, Iranian officials disputed any such suggestion and blamed mechanical trouble.

Advertisements

“The rumors about the plane are completely false and no military or political expert has confirmed it,” Gen. Abolfazl Shekarchi, spokesman for the Iranian armed forces, was quoted by the semiofficial Fars news agency as saying. He said the rumors were “psychological warfare” by the government’s opponents.

In Washington, a Democrat who attended a classified briefing from Trump administration officials on Capitol Hill — including Defense Secretary Mark Esper, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and CIA Director Gina Haspel — said the briefers had no intelligence indicating the plane was shot down. The lawmaker spoke on condition of anonymity.

The plane, en route to the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, was carrying 167 passengers and nine crew members from several countries, including 82 Iranians, at least 63 Canadians and 11 Ukrainians, according to officials. The crash just before dawn scattered flaming debris and passengers’ belongings across a wide stretch of farmland.

The symptoms often include a rash, muscle pain, and tiredness.

What did Bieber say?

On his Instagram page, the artist wrote that people had suggested he looked like he was “on meth”, but “they failed to realise I’ve been recently diagnosed with Lyme disease, not only that but had a serious case of chronic mono which affected my skin, brain function, energy, and overall health”.

He said he was getting “the right treatment” to help address the disease, and that more would be revealed in an upcoming YouTube documentary series about his life.

“You can learn all that I’ve been battling and OVERCOMING!!” he wrote, telling his 124 million Instagram followers: “I will be back and better than ever”.

The superstar’s wife, model Hailey Bieber, defended her husband against criticism from those “trying to downplay the severity of Lyme disease”.

“Please do your research,” she urged them on Twitter on Wednesday.

What is Lyme disease?

Lyme disease is caused by bacteria carried by some species of ticks – around 13% in the UK are believed to be infected
It cannot be passed on from person to person
Symptoms – including the bulls-eye rash, fatigue and fever – usually develop around three weeks after a bite

The majority of those who take the full three-week course of antibiotics make a full recovery
The New Forest and the Scottish Highlands are known Lyme disease hotspots – but people should take care wherever there is long grass
The NHS test, which is highly accurate, looks at antibodies the body produces, which can take some weeks to reach detectable levels

President Donald Trump Vows To Hit 52 Sites ‘Very Hard’ If Iran Retaliates

Trump vows to hit 52 sites ‘very hard’ if Iran retaliates for Suleimani killing
As general’s body is returned to Iran, president says targets represent the 52 US hostages taken by Iran in 1979

Donald Trump has threatened to hit 52 Iranian sites “very hard” if Iran attacks Americans or US assets in retaliation for the drone strike that killed the Iranian military commander Qassem Suleimani and an Iraqi militia leader, as The Guardian Reports.

Advertisements

The US president made the threat in a tweet hours before Suleimani’s body arrived in Iran for burial and ramifications of the killings were reverberating across a nervous region, where many believe the aftermath could spark a new era of bloodletting and instability.

Iranian state television footage showed a tide of mourners packing the streets of the south-west city of Ahvaz early on Sunday to pay their respects and chanting “death to America”. Huge crowds had joined funeral processions in Baghdad and Tehran on Saturday as calls to avenge the Iranian general’s death mounted and the US case for ordering his assassination was increasingly called into question.

Trump tweeted that Iran “is talking very boldly about targeting certain USA assets” in response to Suleimani’s death. He said the US had “targeted 52 Iranian sites” and that some were “at a very high level & important to Iran & the Iranian culture, and those targets, and Iran itself, WILL BE HIT VERY FAST AND VERY HARD”.

“The USA wants no more threats!” Trump said, adding that the 52 targets represented the 52 Americans who were held hostage in Iran for 444 days after being seized at the US embassy in Tehran in November 1979.

Trump did not identify the sites. The Pentagon referred questions about the matter to the White House, which did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Iran’s foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, said Trump’s threats breached international law. “Having committed grave breaches of int’l law in Friday’s cowardly assassinations, realdonaldtrump threatens to commit again new breaches,” he tweeted. “Targeting cultural sites is a war crime; – Whether kicking or screaming, end of US malign presence in West Asia has begun.”

Iraq’s parliament is set to meet for an extraordinary session on Sunday where MPs have said they would push for a vote on a resolution requiring the government to request the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq. “There is no need for the presence of American forces after defeating Daesh (Isis),” Ammar al-Shibli, a member of the parliamentary legal committee, told Reuters. “We have our own armed forces which are capable of protecting the country.”

Many Iraqis, including opponents of Suleimani, have expressed anger at the US for killing the two men on Iraqi soil and possibly dragging their country into another conflict.

The US justification behind Suleimani’s killing centred on there being an “imminent attack” that he had directed, but this has been challenged in some quarters.

Advertisements

The New York Times correspondent Rukmini Callimachi tweeted that two sources privy to the information, held by US intelligence officials, described the case as “razor thin”. Her tweets also detail a scramble to discover Suleimani’s whereabouts once the decision to kill him was made.

The White House transmitted on Saturday evening its formal notification to Congress of Friday’s drone strike that killed Suleimani in Iraq. Many Democrats have criticised Trump for failing to seek advance approval or to notify Congress of the attack.

The classified notification was sent under a US law requiring the administration to notify Congress within 48 hours of committing armed forces to military action or imminent actions.

Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the House, said in a statement that the White House notification about the attack “prompts serious and urgent questions about the timing, manner and justification of the administration’s decision to engage in hostilities against Iran”.

It was expected that Suleimani’s body will be taken to Tehran and finally to his home town, Kerman, on Tuesday.

10 Biblical Reasons Why Hell Might Not Exist

Today, many Christians believe in a place of eternal torment where sinners are sent after death, commonly referred to as “Hell” in English. Which is strange, because some say the evidence for eternal punishment as an integral part of the Christian religion is virtually nonexistent. See what you think!

10. The Bible Barely Mentions

Christian believers in the idea of Hell will tell you that it’s a place of punishment for sinners and evildoers. But does that idea have a scriptural basis? See Romans 6:7, “he that is dead is freed from sin.” So if a person’s sins are cleared with his or her death, then what’s with the additional punishment of Hell? Well, Romans 6:23 goes on to state that “the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Note that there is no mention of sinners being condemned to everlasting torture, they simply don’t get the reward for living a righteous life. Similarly, 2 Thessalonians 1:9 says that the punishment for those deemed wicked is not fiery torture, but destruction, “shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might.”John 3:36 strikes roughly the same note, declaring that sinners “will not see [eternal] life.”

Advertisements

Meanwhile, Jude 1:7 does mention “eternal fire,” but only in the context of Sodom and Gomorrah, which are literally destroyed by the eternal fire of God’s wrath. That leaves brief mentions in the Book of Revelation and two of Christ’s parables as the Biblical basis for the fiery Hell of popular imagination (more on those verses later). But if a place of eternal torment was truly intended as an integral component of Christianity, surely it’s strange that the Bible never seems to pay much attention to it?

Advertisements

9. Endless Punishment Doesn’t Make

From a Christian perspective, the idea of Hell is not only cruel and unusual, but totally excessive. Would a God described in the Bible as “a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right” decide that infinite punishment is just and fair? 1 John 4:8 states that God is the very concept of love. Would a loving father eternally torture his child as punishment, even if the child did something seriously wrong? Deuteronomy 19:21 famously states “an eye for an eye,” a principal of equal punishment that seems rather out of sync with the idea of literally endless torment as retribution for the sins of a short mortal life.In fact, the fiery Hell of popular imagination seems even harsher after considering God’s words in Jeremiah 7:31: “They have built the high places of Topheth in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to burn their sons and daughters in the fire—something I did not command, nor did it enter my mind.” If the idea of humans being burned in fire is so unappealing to God that it never even came into His thoughts, then what’s His deal with Hell?

8. Many References To Hell Were Mistranslations

When it comes to misconceptions about Hell, the popular 17th-century King James Version (KJV) of the Bible has a lot to answer for. For example, in the KJV, the prophet Jonah was in the “belly of Hell,” while David bafflingly insists that God would be with him even in Hell. Even Jesus pops down to Hell after his death on the cross. This obviously makes no sense. The Bible repeatedly states that Hell, whatever else it is, involves separation from God. So why is Jesus swinging by for a visit and why is David so sure that God would be with him there? In fact, if God is with David, why would he be in Hell in the first place? The answer is that the KJV lumps a whole bunch of different Greek and Hebrew words together under the English term “Hell.” The words in question are Hades, Sheol, Tartarus, and Gehenna, and they can have very different meanings in their original context. That’s particularly important to Hades and Sheol, which are roughly equivalent words in Greek and Hebrew. Neither can reasonably be translated as “place of torment,” which is what the word “Hell” now generally implies. A better translation might be “the grave” or “the afterlife.” Neither term carries a value judgment in the way that “Hell” does only the wicked go to Hell, but all souls are in Sheol after death. So David’s weird KJV claim that God would be with him in “Hell” is better translated as “the afterlife” or even “the depths.” While the KJV references Jesus being in Hell after his death on the cross, the New International Version makes a much less dramatic reference to him being in his “grave.” In fact, the New International Version only refers to Hell 15 times, compared to a whopping 54 mentions in the KJV.Other modern Bibles try to avoid such problems altogether by simply leaving “Sheol” and “Hades” untranslated, although this hasn’t quite undone the influence of the KJV. As the Encyclopedia Americana of 1942 put it: “Much confusion and misunderstanding has been caused through the early translators of the Bible persistently rendering the Hebrew Sheol and the Greek Hades and Gehenna by the word ‘Hell.’ The simple transliteration of these words by the translators of the revised editions of the Bible has not sufficed to appreciably clear up this confusion and misconception.

”7‘Gehenna’ Is Controversial,

So if “Hades” and “Sheol” don’t 8atch the modern perception of Hell, that leaves “Gehenna.” (“Tartarus” is also sometimes translated as “Hell,” but the term only appears once in the Bible, and not in relation to humans, so it has limited relevance here.) “Gehenna” is certainly the Biblical term most often rendered “Hell” in English. For example, the New International Version of Matthew 5:30 states: “If your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into Hell.” Scary, right? It all comes down to the controversy over the exact meaning of “Gehenna.” The word itself is a Greek rendering of the Hebrew terms ge-hinnom and ge-ben-hinnom, which mean “valley of the sons of Hinnom” and refer to an actual valley just outside ancient Jerusalem. The valley first appears in the Old Testament as the location of fiery pagan child sacrifices, which continue at least until 2 Kings 23:10, which describes how Josiah ravaged the site so “that no man might make his son or his daughter to pass through the fire to Moloch.” By the time of Jesus, the term was apparently used metaphorically to refer to a place of fiery destruction, and Jesus uses it 11 times in this context. It’s interesting to note that Hebrew had no word for such a concept and Jesus apparently felt no need to introduce one, preferring to make historical allusions instead.Or maybe not. According to some scholars, the valley of Gehenna had essentially become Jerusalem’s incinerator by the time of Christ. It featured constantly burning fires, which consumed the city’s garbage and the bodies of criminals and the disgraced. This tradition is quite old, but not supported by any real evidence or ancient accounts, although it is strange that Jesus refers to bodies being destroyed in Gehenna as well as souls. In any case, none of Christ’s references to Gehenna suggest any kind of eternal torment. Certainly, the fires of Gehenna are described as eternal, but Jesus specifically warns that they will be used to “destroy both soul and body.” Removing unrighteous people from existence, as that verse suggests, doesn’t sound particularly like torturing them forever. The second meaning can only be inferred by readers who already have that concept of Hell.

6. Jesus Didn’t Invent His Parable About

So is the idea of a fiery Hell completely alien to the Bible? Not at all. It’s right there in the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus, as recorded in Luke 16:19-31. In the story, a wealthy man lives it up while ignoring a beggar named Lazarus. But the pair experience a dramatic role reversal after their deaths, when Lazarus is carried off by angels to a blissful existence in the bosom of Abraham, while the rich man finds himself tormented in a blazing fire. The rich man begs Lazarus to take pity on him and bring him some water, but Abraham points out that the rich man had a great life and never took pity on Lazarus. Abraham also refuses to resurrect Lazarus to warn the rich man’s family to change their ways, arguing that they can choose to follow the prophets or not, but witnessing a miracle won’t suddenly make them good people. This is probably the closest the Bible gets to the modern conception of Hell. However, it’s important to note that the Bible doesn’t present it as a true story or a straightforward warning about the afterlife. Christ’s parables are clearly fictional stories designed to convey a message. As Warren Prestidge points out, the Rich Man and Lazarus is immediately preceded by the Parable of the Unjust Steward, where a servant defrauds his master and gets rewarded for it. If you ignored the deeper meaning of the parables, you’d conclude that Jesus thought stealing from your boss was great. In fact, Jesus didn’t even come up with the story in the first place. Scholars have long identified the general outline (a beggar is rewarded after death, while a rich man is punished) as an Egyptian folktale that became popular with Jewish religious teachers like the Pharisees, to the point that early Jewish literature contains at least seven versions of it. In Luke’s account, Jesus only brings the story up after the Pharisees mock his original Parable of the Unjust Steward, thus using one of their own favorite stories to demonstrate their hypocrisy. With this context, it’s hard to see the parable as a serious account of the Christian afterlife.

5. The Other Verses Aren’t Conclusive

The Bible also contains a reference to eternal fiery torture in Revelation 20:10-15, which refers to a “lake of burning sulfur” where entities are “tormented day and night for ever and ever.” Of course, the entities involved apparently include “death” and “Hades,” which are not actual people able to experience actual suffering. In other words, this is symbolism. Just as these aren’t literal people, neither is the location they are assigned to.That leaves the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats, as found in the Book of Matthew. In the story, which hovers somewhere between a parable and a straightforward sermon, Jesus appears to speak of the Last Judgment, when sinners will be banished “into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.” This section of the sermon/parable is fairly direct and clearly not part of a fictional story like the Rich Man and Lazarus. The parable ends with an apparent reference to unending torment: “Then [the unrighteous] will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” For these reasons, the Sheep and the Goats is generally considered the key Bible passage behind the popular conception of Hell. However, many theologians argue that this interpretation of the Sheep and the Goats contradicts a number of other Bible verses, which explain the fate of the unrighteous at the Last Judgment as fiery destruction via “the second death.” If the unrighteous are destroyed, they can’t be tormented forever. Some Biblical scholars argue that, while the fire of punishment is described as eternal, that doesn’t mean the wicked will be punished there for all eternity. Rather, the punishment is total destruction in the holy fire, which has always existed. In other words, the eternal punishment (“aionios kolasis“) has lasted forever, but the punishment itself is simply immediate destruction.Jehovah’s Witnesses and other groups who not believe in Hell go even further, arguing that the word kolasis shouldn’t be translated as “punishment” at all. Citing its derivation from a Greek term for pruning trees, they suggest that it would better be rendered “cutting off,” “destruction,” or even “death.” The last interpretation would turn “aionios kolasis” into “eternal death,” making a nice contrast with the “eternal life” promised the righteous. The “pruning trees” meaning also invokes John 15:6: “If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.” Kolasis only appears twice in the New Testament, but the Old Testament in Greek uses it to refer to punishment in general and to death as a form of punishment, suggesting that “eternal punishment” and “eternal death” are both valid translations.

4. Even The Church Fathers Couldn’t Agree On Hell

Since many hold the early church fathers as the authority on matters of faith and doctrine, many would find it surprising that even they couldn’t agree if Hell existed and, if so, what it actually was. Justin Martyr, Clement of Alexandria, Tertullian, and Cyprian were among those that held that Hell was a literal place of fiery torment. Origen and Gregory of Nyssa disagreed, countering that Hell was simply separation from God. While the idea of eternal fiery damnation can be found as early as the apocryphal second-century Apocalypse of Peter, it doesn’t seem to have become dominant in Christian thinking until around the fifth century AD.Ironically, this view was heavily inspired by a non-Christian, the Greek philosopher and mathematician Plato, whom the French historian Georges Minois credited with “the greatest influence on traditional views of Hell” of all the early philosophers. Plato’s Story of Er features an afterlife in which sinners are punished or rewarded in proportion to their misdeeds in life. Whatever your views on Hell’s existence, Plato’s sin-specific punishments definitely have no Biblical support, but the philosopher’s ideas can still be detected in many popular versions of the Christian afterlife, most notably Dante’s Inferno. In modern times, many Christian denominations have moved away from Saint Augustine’s conception of Hell as a physical place beneath the Earth. Even the venerable Catholic Church has apparently decided to go with the flow, with the Catechism of the Catholic Church, approved by Pope John Paul II in 1992, declaring that Hell is simply a state of “definitive self-exclusion from communion with God and the blessed.”

3. Some Aspects Of Hell Seem Distinctly

Plato might have had the greatest role, but non-Abrahamic influences on Hell date back a long way before the Greeks pioneered philosophy. The Ancient Egyptian religion, for example, featured a cavern containing a “lake of fire” where the souls of the wicked were punished for their transgressions. The early Mesopotamians also believed that the underworld lay underground, although it was more dim and miserable than a place of eternal punishment.A particularly interesting comparison can be made between the popular idea of Hell and Zoroastrianism, an ancient religion originating in what is now Iran. In the earliest Zoroastrian texts, the souls of the sinful are judged after death and condemned to eternal punishment in the underworld, which the Book Of Arda Viraf describes as a pit full of fire, “smoke, stench and demons.” The souls are tortured according to the severity of their sins in life and the whole thing is presided over by Angra Mainyu, the great evil spirit, “who ever ridiculed and mocked the wicked in hell” for following him instead of their creator god. That sounds remarkably like the Hell of modern pop culture. And what’s just as remarkable is how many of those details have no basis in the Bible. Zoroastrian hell is staffed by demons and ruled by a devil figure, whereas the Christian Devil and his followers have no role in the afterlife and are the one group clearly stated to be destined for punishment in “Tartarus.” There’s certainly no reason to believe that a Christian hell would make the punishment fit the crime, whereas the demons of Zoroastrianism seem to delight in devising inventive tortures for each particular sin. In fact, the Book Of Arda Viraf is distinctly reminiscent of Dante’s Inferno.

2. EvenThe Concept Is Alien To The Old Testament

the thin evidence for Hell in the New Testament looks vast in comparison to the Old Testament, which clearly has no concept of Hell at all. Rather, scriptures like Job 3:11-18 suggest that death is simply a cessation: “Why did I not perish at birth, and die as I came from the womb . . . For now I would be lying down in peace; I would be asleep and at rest . . . There the wicked cease from turmoil, and there the weary are at rest.” Pretty self-explanatory. Ecclesiastes 3:19 sounds even more skeptical about the possibility of an afterlife, sourly observing that “Man’s fate is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath; man has no advantage over the animal. Everything is meaningless.”Even at the very start of the Bible, in Genesis 2:16-17 and 3:19, Adam and Eve’s punishment for breaking God’s instructions and eating the forbidden fruit was not the threat of hellfire, but rather a promise that they will eventually die, “for dust you are and to dust you will return.” If Adam and Eve were at risk of being tormented forever, wouldn’t they have been warned of that? Would God lie and tell them they were going back to the dust if his plan was really to lock them in a furnace? When Cain kills Abel, God sentences him to wander the land and even gives him a mark to stop people from killing him. If judgment awaits in the afterlife, surely that was a bit counterproductive?

1. Hell Is Little Scare Tactics

While religions like the Jehovah’s Witnesses and Seventh-day Adventists do not teach the doctrine of Hell, many churches and denominations still cling to the idea. But why?It cannot be denied that, throughout history, the idea of Hell has been used as a scare tactic to keep people in line. An 18th-century preacher named Jonathan Edwards became famous for his fire-and-brimstone sermon “Sinners In The Hands Of An Angry God,” which warned that God could “cast wicked men into Hell at any moment.” So terrifying was his depiction of hell that other clergymen had to rush to the aid of distraught members of the congregation. Even in modern times, the theme of “believe or you will go to Hell” is common, complete with vivd descriptions of grinding teeth, the shrieks of the damned, and the odor of scorching flesh. Writing on the topic, one author describes having seen a young child scream in church, confessing that he was “afraid of Hell.”Others, such as Queen Mary I of England, have used the doctrine as an excuse for perpetrating barbarism. Before sentencing a group of Protestants to be burned alive, she supposedly declared: “As the souls of heretics are hereafter to be eternally burning in Hell, there can be nothing more proper than for me to imitate the Divine vengeance by burning them on earth.”Like all scare tactics, the idea of hellfire can exert a powerful grip on believers. However, the Biblical evidence for the horrifying doctrine is rather lacking. In fact, the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus, often cited as Biblical proof of the doctrine of Hell, actually has the opposite message. At the end of the parable, Abraham declines to send Lazarus back to Earth to warn sinners of some terrifying fate awaiting them in the afterlife, arguing that righteousness can only come from belief, rather than fear of some supernatural punishment. My mission is to turn the sprinkler on hell.

We have all heard of toadstools and know that they are poisonous, but what many people don’t know is that a toadstool is actually a mushroom, not a separate type of plant. Toadstool is slang for “poisonous mushroom”. While there are some useful signs that a mushroom is poisonous, they are not consistent and all mushrooms of unknown origin should be considered dangerous to eat.

Some of the things you can look for to try to determine whether a mushroom is poisonous are: it should have a flat cap with no bumps, it should have pink or black gills (poisonous mushrooms often have white gills), and the gills should stay attached to the cap (not the stalk) if you pull it off. But remember, while this is generally true of many types of mushroom, it is not always true.
Not all mushrooms are dangerous; some are actually delicious.

9. Almonds

Almonds are one of the most useful and wonderful of seeds (it is not a nut as many people would have you believe). It has a unique taste and its excellent suitability for use in cooking have made it one of the most popular ingredients in kitchens for centuries. The most flavorsome almonds are bitter almonds (as opposed to “sweet” almonds). They have the strongest scent and are the most popular in many countries. But there is one problem: they are full of cyanide. Before consumption, bitter almonds must be processed to remove the poison. Despite this requirement, some countries make the sale of bitter almonds illegal (New Zealand regretfully is one of them). As an alternative, you can use the pip from an apricot stone which has a similar flavor and poison content. Heating destroys the poison. In the USA to sell raw almonds, all almonds sold are now heat-treated to remove traces of poison and bacteria.

Cherries are a very popular fruit used in cooking, liqueur production, or eaten raw. They are from the same family as plums, apricots, and peaches. All of the previously mentioned fruits contain highly poisonous compounds in their leaves and seeds. Almonds are also a member of this family but they are the only fruit which is harvested especially for its seeds. When the seeds of cherries are crushed, chewed, or even slightly injured, they produce prussic acid (hydrogen cyanide). Next time you are eating cherries, remember not to suck on or chew the pip.

Eating the liver of a fugu (pufferfish) is so poisonous. The fugu is so poisonous and toxic that in Japan, fugu chefs are trained specially for the job and are tested before being a given certificates of practice. The training takes two or three years. In order to pass, the chef must answer a written test then give a demonstration of his cutting abilities. The final part of the test involves the chef eating the pieces of fugu that he has cut. Only 30% of apprentices pass the test which is not to say that the rest die by eating their fugu they can fail in earlier parts of the test. Only the flesh of the fugu is consumed as it is less likely to have high amounts of poison (which causes a slight tingling sensation in the mouth). Fugu is the only food officially illegal for the Emperor of Japan to eat for his safety.

6. Apples

Apple seeds also contain cyanide but obviously in much smaller doses. Apple seeds are very often eaten accidentally but you would need to chew and consume a fairly high number to get sick. There are not enough seeds in one apple to kill, but it is absolutely possible to eat enough to die. I recommend avoiding apple eating competitions! Incidentally, if you want to eat an apple and find a worm in it (and hopefully not half a worm), you can drop it in a bowl of salt water which will kill the worm.

Elderberry trees are very attractive and quite large. They are covered with thousands of tiny flowers which have a delicate scent. The flowers are used mainly for making elderflower liqueur and soda. Sometimes the flowers are eaten after being battered and deep fried. But beneath the pretty surface lurks danger! The roots and some other parts of the elderberry tree are highly poisonous and will cause severe stomach problems. So next time you decide to pick some elderberry flowers for eating, be sure to eat just the flowers.

Rhubarb is a very underrated plant it produces some of the nicest tasting puddings and is incredibly easy to grow at home. Rhubarb is something of a wonder plant in addition to an unknown poison in its leaves, they also contain a corrosive acid. If you mix the leaves with water and soda, it becomes even more potent. The stems are edible (and incredibly tasty) and the roots have been used for over 5,000 years as a laxitive and poop-softener.

Castor oil, the bane of many of our childhoods, is regularly added to candies, chocolate, and other foods. Furthermore, many people still consume a small amount daily or force it on their unwilling children. Fortunately the castor oil we buy is carefully prepared, because the castor bean is so deadly, that it takes just one bean to kill a human, and four to kill a horse. The poison is ricin, which is so toxic that workers who collect the seeds have strict safety guidelines to prevent accidental death. Despite this, many people working in the fields gathering the seeds suffer terrible side-effects.

In US, tomatoes are referred to as vegetables after US Supreme Court decision in 1893. In the rest of the world they are considered to be fruit (or more accurately, a berry). You may also be interested to know that technically, a tomato is an ovary. The leaves and stems of the tomato plant contain a chemical called “Glycoalkaloid” which causes extreme nervousness and stomach upsets. Despite this, they can be used in cooking to enhance flavor, but they must be removed before eating. Cooking in this way does not allow enough poison to seep out but can make a huge difference in taste. Finally, to enhance the flavor of tomatoes, sprinkle a little sugar on them. Now we just need to work out whether they are “toe-mah-toes” or “toe-may-toes”.

Potatoes (like tomatoes) contain poison in the stems and leaves and even in the potato itself if left to turn green (the green is due to a high concentration of the glycoalkaloid poison). Potato poisoning is rare, but it does happen from time to time. Death normally comes after a period of weakness and confusion, followed by a coma. The majority of cases of death by potato in the last fifty years in the USA have been the result of eating green potatoes or drinking potato leaf tea.

Iran President tells US To Expect Revenge Over Killing Of Their Commander

Iran will revenge killing of commander by US forces – President Rouhani

President Hassan Rouhani of Iran wants the United States to expect his country would revenge the killing of Commander Qasem Soleimani

Soleimani was killed in an airstrike carried out by the US forces in Iraq

Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, also promises ‘harsh revenge’ over the death of Soleimani The president of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, has expressed anger over the killing of his country’s Quds force commander, Qasem Soleimani, by a United States air strike in Iraq.

President Rouhani said his country will revenge the death of Soleimani as tension continues to build around world over the act by the US. Reuters reports that Rouhani said the death of Soleimani has further invigorated Iran to resist the US.

“Soleimani’s martyrdom will make Iran more decisive to resist America’s expansionism and to defend our Islamic values. “With no doubt, Iran and other freedom-seeking countries in the region will take his revenge,” Rouhani said in a statement as reported by Iranian state television.

Breaking: US Murder Top Iranian Commander, Qasem Soleimani In Baghdad Air Strike

Qasem Soleimani: US kills top Iranian general in Baghdad air strike

Soleimani commanded Iranian military operations in the region
Iran’s most powerful military commander, General Qasem Soleimani, has been killed by a US air strike in Iraq, BBC reports.

The 62-year-old spearheaded Iranian military operations in the Middle East as head of Iran’s elite Quds Force.

He was killed at Baghdad airport, along with other Iran-backed militia figures, early on Friday in a strike ordered by US President Donald Trump.

Soleimani’s killing marks a major escalation in tensions between Washington and Tehran.

Under his leadership, Iran had bolstered Hezbollah in Lebanon and other pro-Iranian militant groups, expanded Iran’s military presence in Iraq and Syria and orchestrated Syria’s offensive against rebel groups in the country’s long civil war.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said “severe revenge awaits the criminals” behind the attack. He also announced three days of national mourning.

Why kill Soleimani now and what happens next?
A brief history of US-Iran relations
Soleimani was widely seen as the second most powerful figure in Iran, behind the Ayatollah Khamenei. His Quds Force, an elite unit of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, reported directly to the ayatollah and he was hailed as a heroic national figure.

But the US has called the commander and the Quds Force terrorists and holds them responsible for the deaths of hundreds of US personnel.

President Trump, who was in Florida at the time of the strike, tweeted an image of the American flag shortly after the news broke.

A statement from the Pentagon – the headquarters of the US Department of Defense – said Soleimani had been “developing plans to attack American diplomats and service members in Iraq and throughout the region”.

“This strike was aimed at deterring future Iranian attack plans,” it added.

10 Horrifying Secrets Doctors Will Never Tell You

As a modern culture, we tend to put our faith wholeheartedly in doctors. They’re the experts, and more often than not we take their advice without question. But what we don’t take into account is that many of these doctors either don’t have a clue or actively withhold information that could be putting your life in jeopardy.

And if you think that sounds sensationalist, take a look at these facts, facts that doctors know about but won’t let it o as you sign the bill:

10. Cancer Isn’t Always Cancer

Cancer

The worst possible outcome of a trip to the doctor is a diagnosis of the Big C. We’re so terrified of it that even the word is taboo in some places, and the medical community lives by one maxim: early diagnosis. The earlier you find the cancer, the more easily you can treat it. But such enthusiasm can easily lead to false positives, and treating something that isn’t there can be dangerous. We’re not just making that up. Mammograms are famous for misdiagnosing breast cancer, since every little anomaly in the breast can look like a tumor. The most common misdiagnosis is with DCIS, or Ductal Carcinoma In Situ. Despite the “carcinoma” in there, DCIS isn’t really cancerous ; only rarely does it turn into cancer, and practically everyone with DCIS survives, no matter what kind of treatment they get.But when doctors quote cancer statistics, they usually lump in DCIS, which now accounts for about 30 percent of breast cancer “cases” in the US. And when faced with that option, most people choose to undergo “needless and sometimes disfiguring and harmful treatments” to get rid of something that, statistically, will do less harm than the treatments themselves.

Your doctor will never tell you this, most of the people suffering from high blood pressure and uses the drugs prescribed by the doctor are killing their sexual health.

This secret is what doctors won’t tell you, A man shared a story with us how he declined in his sexual performance badly, and we asked if he uses drugs for HBP and he replied, yes, ok we gave an advice to stop using the drugs and immediately he saw changed. He went away to sue the doctor for not informing him the drugs could cause this to him and how it has affected his marriage.

8. Prescription Drugs Can Cause Diabetes

Sugar

Type 2 diabetes is caused when your body either doesn’t make enough insulin or can’t effectively use all the insulin it makes. The result is a buildup of glucose, or sugar, in the bloodstream, which starts damaging nerves and blood vessels over time. About 2.3 million Americans have type 2 diabetes, and the numbers rise every year.It turns out that some of the most commonly prescribed drugs, like antidepressants, might be causing it. In 2011, there were 46.7 million prescriptions given out to treat depression in the UK alone. When researchers at the University of Southampton looked at the numbers, they found that people who took two of the most common types of antidepressants, SSRIs and tricyclic antidepressants, were twice as likely to develop diabetes. And sure, those findings were released in 2013, but we’ve known about the link since 2008 and yet millions more are prescribed on a monthly basis. And it gets worse—some of the most common drugs used to treat ADHD in children can triple the risk of type 2 diabetes. More often than not, that’s a lifelong condition, and kids don’t even get the choice to refuse.

7. Some Medications Increase Cancer Risk

Now that we’ve assuaged some of your worries about cancer, let’s go ahead and kick everything back up again.Blood pressure medications can almost triple your risk of aggressive breast cancer. In the US alone, about 58.6 million people take medication for high blood pressure, so you’d think the cancer link would be more well-known.The study that discovered this relationship looked at 1,763 women with breast cancer. Those who used a particular type of blood pressure medicine—calcium channel blockers—were 2.5 times more likely to develop cancer. The risk is greater in elderly women over the age of 55, and it likely happens because calcium channel blockers prevent cells from dying. If cells can’t complete their normal life cycle, they go rogue and become cancerous. But even that wouldn’t be a problem if the medication weren’t so grossly over-prescribed. In a review of one hospital, 150 out of 161 doctors prescribed calcium channel blockers to their patients. But how many of those doctors told their patients about the risks? Only eight. That’s a potentially deadly lapse in duty.

6. Aspirin Can Cause Internal Bleeding

Aspirin

One of the more common pieces of advice from doctors is that you should take a low dose of aspirin every day. The idea is that it serves as a maintenance treatment to prevent blood clots, which can cause heart attacks and strokes. But what they don’t tell you is the small fact that doing so can trigger massive internal bleeding.Researchers found that, out of 10,000 people, a daily dose of aspirin prevented 46 people from dying over the course of 10 years. But they also found that 49 people out of the same 10,000 experienced major internal bleeding, and another 117 started bleeding in their gastrointestinal tract.

5. Heartburn Drugs Have Deadly Side Effects

Heart burn
Heart burn (Credit: Peter Dazeley)

One of the main problems with medications is that, while they usually do a decent job of treating what they’re supposed to treat, they often cause horrible side effects. And even though it’s the doctor’s job to tell people about those side effects, sometimes that just doesn’t happen. For example, proton pump inhibitors, a type of heartburn drug marketed under the brand names Nexium and Prilosec, have been linked to bone decay, birth defects, and an inability to absorb vitamin B12, which can lead to permanent neurological damage.

Despite that, Nexium was the single most prescribed drug in 2012, and in many cases it doesn’t even work. It’s usually prescribed to treat Barrett’s esophagus, which is when excess stomach acid burns the lining of the esophagus, but the pills don’t do a thing for the condition. Pediatricians have even started prescribing these meds to infants, even though it’s been proven that doing so can actually cause permanent intestinal disorders.

4. “Safe” X-Rays Still Cause Cancer

Full frame shot of X-ray

It’s a well-known fact that gamma radiation and X-rays carry the risk of bringing cancer. Now, we’re constantly exposed to radiation just by being alive, so there’s a general guideline for “safe exposure” to X-rays, which the medical profession sticks to when they look for broken bones or give you a mammogram. Radiation is measured in units called sieverts, and every year you’re exposed to about 2.4 millisieverts, just from general background radiation; by contrast, a mammogram only gives you about 0.7 millisieverts.

The difference, though, is that medical X-rays pop that radiation into you in the space of minutes, whereas it takes a whole year to absorb your typical background radiation. And it’s a huge difference, even with low-radiation “safe” X-rays. And it could be even worse than thatsome researchers claim that the majority of cancer cases were either caused or aggravated by medical X-rays.And to top it all off, women who get X-rays when pregnant have been found more likely to give birth to children with cancer. And a CT scan is the go-to diagnostic tool for young children, which, you guessed it, is just another type of X-ray.

3. Doctors Get Paid When You Buy Certain Drugs

Doctor

Conspiracy theorists aren’t shy about proclaiming the evils of Big Pharma. But conspiracy theory is one thing, and documented proof is a whole different beast. When the Harvard Law School took a closer look, they realized that they didn’t have to dig very deep at all to discover that doctors are paid handsomely to prescribe certain drugs, even when those drugs turn out to be harmful.

One of the most publicized recent cases was Dr. Joseph L. Biederman, who began diagnosing two-year-old toddlers with bipolar disorder and prescribing strong antipsychotics that were never approved by the FDA for children under 10.

The manufacturer of the antipsychotics paid him $1.6 million. Then there’s Dr. Alan F. Schatzberg, who began prescribing an abortion drug to treat depression—he owned $4.8 million of stock in the company that produced the drug. And then you have Dr. Charles B. Nemeroff, who received $500,000 to advertise as safe a drug that can cause seizures and paralysis The fact is, doctors are allowed to prescribe any drug for any illness, no matter what the drug was originally intended to treat. We’re not making a blanket statement saying all doctors take money to prescribe questionable treatments—but how do you know which ones do?

2. Pandemic Scares Are Over-Hyped

Pandemic
Pandemic (Credit:Popperfoto / Contributor)

Who can forget the swine flu pandemic in 2009 and 2010? When the World Health Organization called for a state of global emergency, the world went haywire. Lines for the vaccine stretched for blocks, and doctors everywhere told people to seek immediate treatment.Over the course of about 10 months, pharmaceutical companies raked in £6.5 billion (about $10.5 billion in 2010) from vaccine sales. Doctors tied to the vaccine’s manufacturers were 8.4 times more likely to recommend the vaccine to their patients. And not only recommend—they were more likely to publicly hype the dangers of the flu in the media, which immeasurably contributed to the state of panic. And strangely, doctors who were being paid by pharmaceutical companies were also more likely to volunteer information to the press.

That doesn’t seem like much of a difference, but it’s these quoted experts that we tend to believe in a news article. In the end, about 17,000 people died from swine flu, as opposed to the 46,000 that die every year from the normal flu. Surely the low numbers were due to the mass vaccinations—rather than, say, the fact that the disease was just a common mutation artificially inflated to terror-inducing proportions.

1. Registered Sex Offenders And Violent Criminals

The dark side of doctors(Credit: shotbydave)

Your doctor doesn’t have to disclose his criminal history, and usually that wouldn’t be considered a problem. Between the strict admission policies of most medical schools and the vague notion that hospitals probably screen their employees, who would even think to ask? Well, maybe you should. In November 2013, the UK’s General Medical Council, or GMC, released a database with the criminal histories of physicians in the United Kingdom.

It turned out that almost 800 practicing doctors held criminal records, including 31 who were arrested for assault and 330 arrested for drunk driving. The rest of them? Crimes range from theft to drug trafficking, and they’re under zero legal obligation to let their patients know about it.And it’s not exactly rare. There’s the rapist surgeon working in Miami, and the New York doctor who was caught trying to meet a young boy for sex, and a Scottish physician who had reams of child pornography stored on his computer.Who’s really taking care of you?

5. Iraqi Girl Crying After Her Family Died At A Checkpoint

Title: Iraqi Girl at Checkpoint, Tal Afar, Iraq, 2005

The blood-spattered, five-year-old girl at the Iraqi checkpoint showed a glimpse of a wider story. Samar Hassan’s parents were driving her brother back from the hospital when US soldiers opened fire. The soldiers had feared that the car was full of suicide bombers and gunned them down.

Only afterward did they see that it was a civilian family. These kinds of arbitrary civilian casualties were common during the Iraq War because soldiers were given liberal rights to take any means necessary to protect themselves.

In 2005, photographer Chris Hondros took one of the few images of this nature that reached popular imagination in the West. He delivered the picture despite orders to keep it. The order was due to the tight control over war photography at the time and because photographers found it too dangerous to travel there. Hondros died in the 2011 civil war in Libya.

The child’s face represented the civilian’s pain during the war. It is one of the most important photographs of the Iraq War. It also sowed skepticism in the public when they saw the people they were supposedly trying to help. The photo reached the Pentagon, and policies about checkpoints were changed due to the image.

4. Vulture Waiting For Girl To Die

Vulture and the Little Girl

Title: The Vulture and the Little Girl, Ayod, South Sudan, 1993

Pictures can tell the truth with light and timing. In the bright day, the child was too weak to stand. She was only one of many in a South Sudan that was gradually starving to death. A vulture landed nearby to watch and wait for her to die. With the photographer nearby and the child still crawling, the vulture did not draw nearer. The girl supposedly made it to the feeding center nearby. Yet the picture became a “metaphor of Africa’s despair.”People knew that the Sudanese were starving. But when this was published in The New York Times in 1993, it opened many eyes. And it made hundreds ask: Why didn’t the photographer help the child? He chased the vulture away but left her to continue her painful crawl. Not everyone realized that photojournalists were told not to touch famine victims for fear of spreading disease. There was an outpouring of accusation toward Kevin Carter. Was it a photojournalist’s duty to intervene? A year after taking the picture, Carter took his own life.

3. A Fall From A Building Captured On Camera

Title: Fire Escape Collapse, Boston, Massachusetts, 1975

Where should the line be drawn for releasing disturbing images? The photographer thought he was taking pictures of a routine rescue. The godmother and her goddaughter were crowded on the fire escape where a firefighter was moving to help.In the midst of the rescue, the fire escape collapsed. The photographer continued to take photos, freezing the terrible fall in picture. The victims seemed to be swimming through the air, their expressions clear in that instant.Photographer Stanley Forman turned away before they hit the ground because he didn’t want to see their deaths. The godmother, Diana Bryant, died when she hit the ground. But miraculously, she cushioned the fall for her two-year-old goddaughter, Tiare, who survives to this day.Forman won the Pulitzer Prize for his work. Almost overnight, fire escape safety became a nationwide debate. It led to numerous municipalities throughout the US changing their fire escape safety codes.

2. Young refugee lying lifeless

Title: Death of Alan Kurdi, Bodrum, Turkey, 2015

When photographer Nilufer Demir came across the two-year-old Syrian boy washed up on the shore, Alan looked like he was sleeping. Demir took the pictures because that was “the only way to express the scream of his silent body.” Alan was a Syrian refugee of the ongoing civil war that has already killed hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians.Millions more are refugees, and the story of Alan’s family is a common one. Syrians who escape the fighting have reached refugee camps, only to find them overflowing and hungry. Chances to be transferred to a safer country can be frighteningly slim when the refugees have no connections or good source of income. Alan’s family was denied multiple times. In a last, desperate act, they paid to be smuggled out on an inflatable raft over open waters. The raft, holding twice its recommended capacity, capsized several minutes in, and bodies began to wash up on the Greek coast. It’s easier than ever to share a picture with the world. When Alan Kurdi’s picture was released, millions were viewing it within the day. It’s one of the most telling images in an ongoing war that many prefer to ignore.

1. Japanese Bombing Of Fleeing

Title: Bloody Saturday, Shanghai, China, 1937

It is one of the most influential picture ever taken, It depicts when Japan was openly bombing and killing its way across China. But to most Americans, it was a distant conflict and not their problem.

The picture was taken after Japanese bombers attacked Shanghai in the middle of the day on Saturday, August 28, 1937. Bombs were dropped on a railway station where Japanese refugees were crowded. The picture was taken minutes after the bombs had fallen. Chinese photographer H.S. Wong recalled the horror as the dead and the living crowded the terminal. “My shoes were soaked with blood,” he said. a baby alone on the railroad tracks with the mother lying dead nearby. He took pictures before going to help the baby, who was soon taken by his father.

The pictures released in the Chinese press made their way overseas to the US.The Bloody Saturday (aka Shanghai Baby) photo caught the sympathy and shock of the public as it was released on every major news venue. Over 130 million people could now put a face to the tragedy. The Shanghai baby shocked the country, and condemnation of the war crashed down on Japan. It showed the devastation, death, and sorrow the war was bringing. It was one of the landmarks leading toward America’s entry into the war.Kellie McIntyre is a freelance writer working over social media and websites. Beware!! 7 Scary Things That Will Happen If The Sun Dies

The sun has a life span of about ten billion years, and we’re already heading toward five billion years in That brings up an important question: What exactly is going to happen once the Sun reaches its limit?

Ok, here are 10 things that will happen once the sun dies:

7. The Greenhouse Effect Will Become Extremely Effective

Sun
The hot sun

One of the first things that will happen once the Sun exhausts its hydrogen is that it will brighten a lot. The brighter the Sun gets, the more of its energy the Earth will receive. The gases in our atmosphere—such as carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide—work like a blanket and already hold in heat from our star, allowing the planet to support life. With the Sun working overtime, these gases will hold in more of its energy. The Earth will become extremely hot, causing water all over the world to evaporate and create a dense cloud in the atmosphere. This cloud will protect the Earth’s surface from the Sun’s radiation for a while. After enough time, though, the heat will become too much, and the oceans will start boiling. At this point, it will be no longer possible for life to exist on Earth. If we’re not dead by then, we would certainly die from lack of water and excessive heat.

6. The Sun Will Expand

The sun (image credit: Getty Images}

Not only will the Sun become much brighter, but it will also increase greatly in size. Once it uses up all of its fuel, it will move on to the next phase in its life cycle: the red giant phase. Even though it increases in size, the actual temperature of the red giant phase is lower, at just 2,000 to 3,000 degrees Celsius.[3] That may seem hot, but in comparison to the Sun’s usual surface temperature of roughly 5,000 to 9,000 degrees Celsius, it is definitely cooler.Although this is how the Sun’s demise will occur, it is not true for all stars. Smaller stars, known as red dwarfs, are so weak that they simply go out once they use up their fuel (though they last much longer than other stars). On the other hand, blue and white giants are so big that they’ll fuse heavier elements until they develop an iron core. After that, they go supernova.

5. . . And Then It Will Shrink

The sun (image credit: Getty Images}

Over time, the Sun will continue to change. When it’s through fusing helium, it won’t be able to do the same with the carbon, and it will finally shrink to a white dwarf. This phase is much smaller than the size of the original Sun.White dwarfs have much less energy, but what they do have is longevity.

These star remnants continue shining on for billions and billions of years, until at some point, far in the future, they turn into dead black dwarfs. It is impossible to know exactly how long this process will take, because astronomers currently believe that the universe isn’t even old enough yet for any black dwarfs to have formed!

Although life on Earth would be long gone by the time the Sun becomes a red giant, that doesn’t mean it won’t reappear elsewhere. Jupiter and Saturn are both large planets with many moons, which could be habitable.

Europa and Ganymede are two moons that currently contain ice. That may not sound too hospitable (Europa’s widely accepted subsurface ocean notwithstanding), but once the Sun increases in size, though, it’ll be close enough to possibly warm the ice and create an environment suitable for more familiar-looking forms of life to exist.

3. The Outer Solar System Will Finally Feel The Heat

As already mentioned, the Sun will become a lot larger and brighter once it starts to die. This will cause nearby planets to turn into fiery wastelands, but what about planets and dwarf planets that are freezing far away? Take Pluto, for example: Right now, the temperature of Pluto varies from –233 to –223 degrees Celsius (–387 to –369 °F). That is freezing.Once the edge of the Sun gets closer, however, it will be able to warm Pluto and the other outer bodies up. While it is unlikely that life will form because not every necessary condition exists, they will remain as warm remnants of what the solar system used to be.This will change as the Sun shrinks into a white dwarf, but at least the outer solar system will be able to have a bit of the Sun’s warmth before it dies forever.

2. Human Life Will Definitely Be Impossible On Earth

Life may occur elsewhere, but it definitely won’t be happening on Earth. Unfortunately, everything that we’ve worked toward will go to ruin once the Sun dies. The surface of Earth will be way too hot to even consider life being possible. Even if we somehow create new anti-heat technology, it is unlikely we would be able to grow anything to eat or find water to drink. Everything that is necessary for survival will cease to exist. It’s odd thinking that at some point, all of this will no longer seem to matter. The Internet will be long dead, along with every memory we have of our Earth. This is why it is simply a hope that somewhere out there, life will start again. It is highly unlikely, though, that this life will look anything like the human race. Even if they do have the same features, it will take billions of years for life-forms to evolve again to where we are today.

1. Humans Could Find Another Way To Make It

It is hard to predict exactly what kind of technology we might have in the future, but it’s fun to imagine the possibilities. We’re already coming close to seeing automated cars and other futuristic devices. For all we know, at some point before our time is up, we may create a way to travel to faraway planets. We know of places that could be habitable, so if it came down to it, we could try some of them out. It’s even possible that our race will have already expanded beyond our horizons and into countless other solar systems by the time the Sun starts to die.In the news, NASA is already working on a mission to Mars. Many other companies have advertised trying to be the first to colonize the red planet. If such a mission were to succeed, it could be revolutionary for the future of the human race.

The goal is for humans to be sent to Mars in the 2030s, which isn’t so far off. Mars would be a small feat in comparison to going to an entirely new galaxy, of course. But as Neil Armstrong said, “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”We have to hope that we can avoid any other catastrophic events before we have a chance to search the universe. Most of what is out there is still unknown—our telescopes can only see so far. We do not know the entire expanse of the universe, nor do we know the extent of our own capabilities. Even though the end of the Sun may seem like the end of life as we know it, we could be wrong. For all we know, our minds could take us farther into the universe than we could possibly imagine.
